When do you wrap your presents?

I'm currently debating when to wrap up my presents. I usually leave it until just before christmas but I'm wondering if I should do it earlier yo avoid a rush.

So when do you wrap yours?

This was to have been my grand wrapping week, I should be sitting here now with a smug Christmas glow in anticipation of the squeals as they rip the lovingly wrapped presents - but no, ds has had a chest infection and been off nursery all week plus he's generally up around 6:30 and dd1 isn't asleep until 10pm. Hopefully ds will be back in next week and I will get some done then.

I wrap family and friends presents as I buy. I'll probably wrap the kids next week but first I like to get it all out at once to inspect the piles! I lay them as they would be on Xmas day and see how it looks. More often than not I've had to buy a last cheap big present to make it look more impressive! Any earlier than a day or two I find it starts looking tatty.

during the days in december when the dc's are at school. hide them all over the house so i have no big stashes in case of burglars

Did all mine yesterday too, 3 hrs - such a relief to have it finished.

Did the stocking ones last week and the DCs main presents last night (they were out at the school performance which I'm not going to until tonight). I learnt the hard way not to leave it till the last couple of days of term when DS was off sick for the whole of the last week a couple of years ago. Sure enough DD has gone down with tummy bug today. Just got DH and my own family to do now, plus supervise the DCs doing theirs, all of which can be done when the DCs are at home. We don't put any out on display until Christmas Eve evening - our tree is on a corner table at the back of the living room in full view of the street, so it's all out in the shed (which is a properly locked brick outbuilding, not a wooden hut).

Hopefully this weekend.

Once again I have very cleverly ordered most stuff online and had it sent direct to my parents house as that's where we're spending Christmas. Saves having to hide it from the children too.

However we are not going there until Christmas eve .I'll make my parents entertain the kids while I wrap I suppose. It's not that bad anyway as I only give one or two presents to each person so don't have piles and piles to do- most of the stocking stuff is unwrapped too.

Just started now. I'll do a few a night until they are finished.
