HELP - What are you buying your husband for xmas?

What are you buying your husband for Xmas this year?

My DH and I have been together nearly 20 years and I have run out of ideas! It doesn't help that he has next to no hobbies.....

He drinks very moderately, wine but not beer
He goes running but not interested in any other sport
He doesn't like reading, or pamper products
He likes gadgets but already has mini iPad, sonos etc
He's into photography - but already has cameras etc

I had a personalised picture thing made for him which was about £25 from notonthehighstreet.com, but he has already seen it annoyingly (my fault).

I am totally stuck! Happy to spend some money on him (say £500 or so) but equally happy to do something very cheap but thoughtful - if only I could think of anything.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

My DH is getting a magazine subscription, a couple of books and a couple of CDs....not very exciting but he has everything he needs!
What about a subscription to a running or photography magazine?

Sonos play bar? No idea what it is but my husband is gadgety and we have a Sonos and he would like the play bar.
I have bought my dh a raspberry pie. What about a decent pair of etip gloves too?

How many watches does he own?
I bought a beautiful wood watch box and I am really happy.
It was around £30 on eBay.

Mine is getting a rugby shirt and a blind eye turned to all the EBay (electronic and hobby related) parcels I sign for.

I'm a SAHM, so he pays for his own presents anyway!

If I earned any money I would get him a nice watch.

His gift from me last year was a watch, but I stupidly let him choose. It's very large, very cleaver and has a very sharp strap. Every time he hugs me or a DD it scratches.

I'd like to buy him an elegant, piece of jewellery one.

If he likes gadgets and photography goto eBay and type in "Elinchrome". Proper gadget porn for the semi-serious photographer (it's top notch Swiss studio lighting) and you might end up with some great family portraits ! (PM me if you want specific advice about which bits to buy).

Or...
go to a local tailor and find out how far £500 will go towards a hand made suit (outside London £500 should get you a handmade suit)...

Or...
A huge Airfix kit of a Spitfire (long winter evenings for the next four months and I bet he always wanted that "big" kit when he was a kid).

Or...
Tickets to the gadget show live

Or...
a fly fishing lesson (for £500 you could have a quite few lessons with a local expert in the Spring)...

Or...
a night (with you a fair amount of champagne) at the Savoy.

Or...
tell him you couldn't think of anything great so you donated £490 to charity on his behalf (here's a bottle of wine for a tenner) and here's a big hug from all the kids at Great Ormond Street / people of Palestine / St Martins in the field / donkeys in the desert...

I have got my DH a wine chiller fridge so I can reclaim our tiny fridge for actually putting some food in! Previous presents include a photoshoot voucher (get him infront of the camera instead of behind) and a good coffee machine which both went down well

My DH and I have a mutual agreement regarding Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries etc.

The rule is simple. He buys me nothing and I buy him nothing!

Thank you so, so much for all your v helpful suggestions. It's so nice to not feel alone!

He suddenly requested a man bag, which was very helpful. I'm also getting him the Garmin watch thing, and a book by Sebastio Salgado who is his fave photographer. Thanks again to you all xxx

I have bought DH one of these www.micro-drone.co.uk/ after I saw them demonstrated at the Chatsworth Christmas Fair. He has had remote control toys before that he could play with in the house but this looks great. It flies like a b***d and the real attraction is you can get a camera add-on that attaches to the drone and can be operated from the handset to take photos or video footage. We like going walking so I thought he would be able to use this when we are out to shoot aerial photos and film.

Does he like coffee? I got DH a Rancilio Silvia one year, he absolutely loves it. This year he's getting a lovely leather travel backgammon set, because he likes backgammon and I like things that are unnecessarily naice :)

Mine is getting sweet FA.

I'm not being a misery, as I LOVE Christmas, but he told me he didn't know what to buy for me, so I wasn't to get him anything!

I have bought my DH top of the range cycling gloves, but for his 50th I bought him a telescope ! one you can hook a camera to to take photos of space and he loved it (being a child of the Apollo era) . If you are thinking up to £500 and live in a 'dark sky' area or at least where you can see stars at night this below might be worth a look

You could try a celestron nexstar

If you're contemplating a Garmin, it might be worth considering the heart-rate-monitor compatible Forerunner 110 rather than the more basic Forerunner 10.

I was going to go for the 10 but decided that actually a heart-rate monitor is a very good as-you-go way of seeing how hard you are training etc and for the relatively small difference in price I think it's worth it for the additional functionality.

oh yes! Chilli bacon Jam! (believe me, its really good)

If your DH is a chilli head you simply MUST try these people for unusual and different stuff you dont see anywhere else , Scorchio I buy loads from them and they deliver really quickly and are fab (I dont know them, just a satisfied customer )

And if he likes curry try Anilas for great curry sauces and chutneys etc .. Also really great
