Marking place.

Didn't have much luck on the last thread. Didn't get the furby or the Sainsbury's coffee mug I was after and the box of omg wouldn't let me register :( Hopefully I'll have better luck this time round! Off to read through thread now :)

HereComesHoneyBooBooDragon · 15/10/2013 22:16

I have the secure note app on my tablet. On it is a track of what I've spent, and a list of what I've purchased. And its password protected so the dc can play on it but not access it.

Dh was looking at the purchased list looking rather green, THEN he looked at gone spent on credit card list, and his expression could not be more relieved. Poor sod Grin

PoppyWearer · 15/10/2013 22:18

Ecoiffier advent calandar suitable for 18mo and over, for children too young for Playmobil and Lego (but old enough to know they are missing out!).

Not bargainous currently - was much much cheaper on the first one of these threads in August, sorry!

notso · 15/10/2013 22:18

Alice don't buy anything else from George without checking if it's online first, there is 10% off at the moment with code AWCAT13, it works on sale items but doesn't seem to work on offers. There's 8.4% cash back at topcashback too!

fivefoottwowitheyesofblue · 15/10/2013 22:29

Isaac Did you get your bargainous Asda delivery? Smile

Snowgirl1 · 15/10/2013 22:31

BeaLola Thanks for the Paperchase 20% off code - it was me who was after it.

Found this little wooden Christmas tree which comes with 24 little wooden ornaments which I'm considering for our reusable advent calendar. Thought I'd post in case it's of interest to anyone else.

RhondaJean · 15/10/2013 22:33

I have enough boots points for the advent calendar for myself, and nothing else to buy from boots. Should I?

Also a repeat request about the good food mag! In case I am missing something Grin

CrotchStitch · 15/10/2013 22:36

Ooh, I have an "item dispatched" email about my printer and no cancellation yet. It does however say it is due for delivery on Monday by Royal Mail- the postman will be really annoyed balancing that on his little basket :o

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/10/2013 22:48

valium I could be persuaded to go to ikea :-)

pettyprudence · 15/10/2013 23:18

I ordered my letterbox wooden kitchen at 10am and it has already been dispatched and due for delivery with dpd tomorrow Shock

For everybody that has already bought lots of presents and wants to make a start on wrapping...

On ebay you can get a 500m roll of the 5mm wide curling ribbon for £2-3 including postage, which works out at 5p for 10 metres if you go for one at £2.50. When you consider that if you get a 10m roll from Asda for approx 30p (when in a pack of 3) or from John Lewis for approx 50p (when in a pack of 4) and more if you buy them as single 10m rolls, the savings are huge. (If you want a metallic glossy one then they are a bit more expensive.)

Easiest thing to do is to do the search on ebay for 500m curling ribbon, then sort it to 'buy it now' then sort by lowest price for product plus postage. (which hopefully that link will do!)

I've got several of these rolls in all sorts of different colours and they're really useful all through the year for presents and at that price you don't have to worry about skimping with it.

Last year for quick and easy decorations I had a couple of boxes of unused red and silver baubles (a last minute ikea buy when they'd been reduced down to about 30p instead of a fiver a couple of years ago) so cut lengths of red and silver curling ribbon, tied a bauble near each end and curled the remainder. Then tied in bunches, added a few more big curled bits and hung either side of doors. Got lots of compliments, cost peanuts and very easy but effective to do. will try and stick a pic on my profile; it's more close up than the whole thing but gives a good idea.

Or if you want wider ribbon, search for florist poly ribbon - should be able to get a big roll/reel for less than a fiver. But not so easy to search on as some is 50mm wide and 90 or 100m long, other is 2 inches wide and 100 yards long... but you can tear it down into the widths you want if it's too wide and do fancy curling with it very easily (my mum used to have it when we were little - my sister and I used to do the curling from when we were 4 or 5 so it really is easy!). Just needs a little more effort to hunt down the best deal for the colour and length you want.

Somebody in a previous thread mentioned about cellophane - they also have that on ebay in big rolls that cost about the same as the small rolls on the high street so again, worth investigating if you want some!

happy wrapping!

RhondaJean · 15/10/2013 23:48

I've just been looking at house of Fraser sale on line and I am sure it's cheaper instore by miles.

I was looking at a biba bag which was down form £199 to £99 instore and it's on the website at £169. I am absolutely certain it's the same bag.

Just thought I'd add a warning for anyone who might be able to pop in for a look?

Pumpkintopf · 15/10/2013 23:56

Oreo those Ikea bits look fab.
Thanks for posting, I love a bit of vicarious ikea shopping since we moved to the back of beyond and now live two hours from our nearest store Smile

Fab wrapping tips Zipzap! Am feeling inspired now.Might be the first year I have everything bought and wrapped by the end of October. Grin

Pumpkintopf · 16/10/2013 00:09

Blackberry cookbooks mentioned upthread- any good?
Spicery gift set or subscription? Link in op.
Various garden offers knocking around - Thompson and Morgan doing autumn planting salads, Gardeners World reduced clematis - can post links if you're interested. I got my DM the seeds from the Telegraph offer (link in op I think) and a cheap but lovely tin seed box from Amazon to out them in, plus a dibber, plant labels and fab mug from Home Bargains that cost a pound I think - was still labelled as bring from the Gifted Gardener and looked a lot more ££ than it was.

BuffyFairy · 16/10/2013 00:31

Rhonda I would treat yourself. I've bought the Boots one, looks like there are a lot of goodies in it. I might save some of them or stockings or crackers.

Trazzletoes I'm planning on getting DD this doll as a present from the new baby. I've seen it in store and it looks good. Only problem is I don't know if I need the boy or girl one! doll

I wasn't sent an ELC birthday club code for DD's birthday last month.

The Zest offer T&C state that After your trial the minimum subscription term is six issues. So it looks as though you need to pay £3 for the trial and then £10 for the next 6 months but cancel before the 6th issue so you don't get charged for another 6 months.

BuffyFairy · 16/10/2013 00:33

Almost forgot, found a JoJo code but I haven't tested it so may be expired. Try STR22 for 10% off.

The Argos toy exchange minimum spend is £35.

In tesco today they had a Mr Tumble book set for £5, a batmobile for £15 and lots of kids DVDs for £3 and I think 2 for £5.

Trazzletoes · 16/10/2013 01:41

Oh Buffy that doll is CUTE! Fab suggestion! Thanks!

I need 150 more points and I can get an advent calendar too... DH said its fine if it's actually free...

I hope baby-Buffy is coming along nicely Grin

Trazzletoes · 16/10/2013 01:42

I missed DD's birthday didn't i? I'm sorry x

JustBecauseICan · 16/10/2013 06:09

Sarah Raven site will be doing % off nearer Christmas and her gardening stuff is ponce-tastic. (I got dp a tomato tin- lots of different tomato seeds and despite him being Italian and therefore deeply suspicious of anything to do with tomatoes not grown within 20 metres of his mammy's house- said they were the best tomatoes he's ever had)

I looked at my online banking (through my fingers) and both of my mag subscriptions not yet cancelled (Body Shop gift and watch) (is it v bad that I can't remember the mag, only the freebies?) are showing as payment made £0 next payment due 00/00/0000. Confused
