What 'big' present are you getting DC?

If you do big presents, at all. We don't every year but this year we are getting:

DS1 (7) table football
DS3 (2) kitchen

Really struggling with DS2 (5).

They also all have birthdays very soon after Christmas.

We also know that DS1 and DS2 would like bikes, but we have no where to store although if I could guarantee we would go out on them they would be a good choice.

DS2 like sciencey things, nature and superheroes. I have thought about making him a boxful of bits tailored to his interests but I think at 5/6 he is just going to see a massive football table and think he hasn't got sonething like his brothers. He also is desperate to learn to play the guitar and would be made up with one but without having lessons first I am reluctant.

Anyway what are you all planning so I can get some inspiration or do you have any suggestions?

DD2 will be here by Christmas (DD1 will be 4). Baby obviously won't have a clue what's going on, so we're using the opportunity to buy a big trampoline for them both, and making clear it's a shared present so will hopefully avoid some of the later arguements.

Would he like a chemistry set? Or a microscope. I got given a child friend microscope one year, most used toy I ever had!

Big presents have always been joint in our house (unless something like a bike obv). Can the football table not be for them all to share?

I was thinking that MegBussett. It will really as it will be in the bedroom shared by DS1 and DS2. My only reservation is that football is DS1s passion and DS2 makes a point of claiming to hate it. He would however play it and have a ball. If we did do it as a joint present we could probably spend a bit more and I have seen one that comes with changing tops so they could also play table tennis,chess, air hockey etc.

This will only be the third year that we have done a big Santa present - they are always a surprise and for the foreseeable future I hope they will be a joint gift (DD 6, DS 4, play with pretty much all the same stuff ATM)

First year was a dressing up box which I'd filled with all sorts of random stuff, last year was a playmobil castle.

This year is the playmobil pyramid - I was going to leave it a couple of years but I found out it won't be made much longer so it's already sitting in our cupboard!

My 2 dds do get a main present but they are not really aware of the cost so think dolls and itouches are comparable so some years theyve cost a lot, others less so. I consider their 'main' present to be the one thing they def want.

this year they are getting a wii between them but they don't know that! They'll ask for a main present but at 8&6 even their big stuff only cost about £40 each so ill get them too with the wii to share (poss 2nd hand if I see a good deal).

I'd get the guitar..dd age 5 got a real pink one for her bday.... (3/4 size!) for £35 in argos. She hasn't had lessons and I've no intention of either! She just enjoyed the fun aspect of putting on shows etc and its been worth it as it gets used most days.

No idea. But both DS and DD have birthdays between now and Christmas so will depend on what they get then.

My 5 year old wants one of those new robot dogs they are £60 so it's undecided yet as to if he gets it

From memory we normally do from Santa,a big present and a stocking then from us a few medium and smaller presents. This year Ds (5) Santa present is a 3dsxl and dd (will be 3) is a disney ultimate dream castle. The Ds was a bargain at £104 new from tescos and so was the castle (the new version is £199 in argos just now and I paid £20 for the older version 2nd hand off ebay-it has a couple of smaller bits missing and a couple of the clips on it are broken but dd won't notice the difference anyway. I also figured it wouldn't stay new for long and if I'd paid £200 I'd probably be too worried it would get damaged to let her play with it properly!

Ds 3.8 will be getting an innotab tablet as he loves the iPad and kindle.

Dd 1.4 will be getting, wait for it ....... nothing. She will have stocking fillers but has all of ds toys to play with. I want to get her a playhouse for her 2nd birthday, which is expensive, so she won't be missing out.

We got DS2 an innotab last year. I have been terrible about downloading stuff though so he actually uses the old laptop and iPad.

Note to self: must be better.

DS 4.6 is getting the Lego police station for his main present and a few other Lego sets to go with it.

Dd 2.2 is getting the playmobil school as her main present and a few other playmobil sets to go with it.

We're just really focussing on playmobil and Lego this year so they can add to it for birthdays and Christmases to coming as the house is coming down with all other kinds if toys.

Ds will be 13 in December will be havinf a new play station.

Dd1-9yo is having a tablet

Dd2-3yo just after Christmas is having a bike.

Never did joint presents before. Mine tend to like very different things.

I'm also stuck on presents Confused

I have DS3s 1st bday on the 17th December
Then Xmas for 7yo,4yo and 1yo DSs
Then DS2s 5th bday on the 30th December.

I know I'm getting DS1 and 2 a bike each for Xmas but thats it lol

I suppose DS3 will be easily pleased as hell only be 1yo

But then what do I get DS2 for his bday?

And also don't know what else to get for DS1 and 2 for Xmas besides the bikes Confused

DS (2.5) is getting the elc rescue center that I got in the sale last year for £57. Dd (1) is getting a rag doll.

Probably kindle fires for all of them. We now do : one decent present from us and a morning stocking of teeny bits plus one or two things from their Santa lists. They will be 6, 8, and 15. 11 yr old ds has already had a kindle.
This year birthday presents were 25 quid each so feel justified in big present this year.

DS 8yo would like the new skylanders swap force, but not sure for DD 5yo, she never asks for anything and I always feel we end up buying for the sake of it. She really likes her shoes collection so may e lots of party shoes!

Nintendo DS. One each so there's no arguing. Amazon do 2 refurbished DS's and 10 games for £140 so that's Christmas sorted. We only get them their main present because they get so much from family they don't need loads from us too.

Pjs (they open Christmas Eve)
New book
Clothes for the day
DVD (again sometimes on the Eve)

I think if they are getting bikes, then smaller/stocking type things would be nice. Or helmets and accessories for the bike.

We have a very generous set if GPs, an uncle and two aunts so we don't buy them that much, plus their birthdays are straight after Christmas where they get even more so we tend not to get then much.

Noisy toys that is a great deal. Filing that away for later. They are currently happy to play DSS and things at friends play dates but it is only a matter of time.

And, although I know they will love the games table I think there is a teeny tiny bit silent protest from me but they bloody love the laptop and iPad.

My 2 older ones LOVE noisy toys haha brother is always buying them stuff that makes a lot of noise as he knows it drives me mad! Haha
