Lol (and sorry!)Smile

BeaWheesht · 20/08/2012 12:25

What's your budget? What are the girls 'into'?

CherryMonster · 20/08/2012 12:32

no set budget really. dd1 likes buzz lightyear and hello kitty, dd2 likes dinosaurs. they have quite a small bedroom, and garden.

I am looking on Amazon now and will get back to you Grin

CherryMonster · 20/08/2012 13:29

My dds are 7 and 5 and are obsessed with polly pocket! They get some every year and haven't outgrown it yet. This year they are getting iPod touches but their best ever presents have to be John Lewis mini/maxi microscooter! They are fab and I highly recommend. They cost more than most scooters but last years and resell well on eBay.

sunnyday123 · 20/08/2012 19:04

Actually my dd aged 6 last year got a Barbie boom box (stereo cd player) for about £45 and they use it everyday putting on little shows etc!

CherryMonster · 20/08/2012 19:12

they are not into polly pocket or barbies. ipod touches are a no no. i must add that dd1 has aspergers, is the clumsiest child on the face of the planet, and has no patience at all.

I'm a 100% Christmas-a-holic......but...

I don't buy the DC main presents until mid Nov/December because:

I never see anything in the shops that I really like (though last October half term, Sainsburys had their half price sale)

My DC change their mind up to the Big Day, so if I buy them presents early, they'd have gone off them

DS has a December birthday. I buy him presents then decide what he's going to have for his birthday and usually try to keep the smaller presents for Christmas (so that he's got lots to open)

He usually gets money for his birthday (he's a saver)

I buy the stocking gifts from Sept/Oct

CherryMonster · 20/08/2012 23:52

mine all have spring/summer birthdays so no issue with that. the main present for the boys is more of one they will need than want (although they will play games too) ds1 going into year 9, and ds2 starting secondary (has SN and will get homework done better if he can type it). the girls will write letters to father christmas in november sometime, but to be honest i have no idea what they are going to want. i am debating whether to buy a decent tv for their bedroom to replace the old one which is on its last legs, otherwise no idea, they cant ride bikes, they have scooters, not into dolls or anything much girly. dd1 loves buzz lightyear and would love to have toy story stuff but in pink. the biggest hit last year was a giant plush lotso bear. she also likes hello kitty but has loads. dd2 likes dinosaurs, but again, pink. i desperately tried last year to get her a duvet cover set, in pink with dinosaurs on, but to no avail. she has plush dino's though and sleeps with them every night.

This is the closest to girly dinosaur bedding I've seen. And this might be a nice stocking filler for dd2 too.

ColourMeWithChaos · 22/08/2012 01:02

don't know if this is a bit twee for your DD2

CherryMonster · 22/08/2012 11:44

Colour- thats cot bedding, she is nearly 7 and well and truly into a big girls bed. but yes, probably a bit twee. Cake- i love it, but not sure i can justify £45 for a duvet set. the pad is second hand and older than dd2 is.

Oops sorry! Didn't read it properly.

Can't believe how difficult it is to find stuff thats pink and dinosaur!

CherryMonster · 22/08/2012 12:06

i know. i tried for months last year and couldnt find anything.

http://www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Product/partNumber/5299500/Trail/searchtext%3EPINK+TV.htm what about this as a joint present?

I know the colour is a bit com inducing but little girls would probably love it.

CherryMonster · 22/08/2012 17:32

i know i was thinking of something like that. the only real issue is that the tv they currently have has a video player, and they have lots of videos they like to watch

OP posts:
DesperatelySeekingPomBears · 22/08/2012 20:22

You might be able to pick up a cheap VCR on eBay/Gumtree so they can keep playing their tapes, and stock up on cheap DVDs for their new DVD player as stocking fillers.

DoubleMum · 22/08/2012 21:43

lots of dinosaur stuff here:
www.shop4dinosaurs.co.uk/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=217
But no pink dino bedding.

oreocrumbs · 22/08/2012 22:51

Disney Store have Buzz, Woody, Jessie (and the ones I don't know) dolls reduced from £25 to £15, I've bought one for DD. Disney online have them too, but there was a bigger selection available in my local store if you have one near by.
