I love the beauty of some Christian art. I sense some of us have been in for a hard winter and cannot wait to see the dawing of Spring. Do share your favourite Christian art and keep in mind I would say that this is a forum and not a shrine.

I took the first photo at the Musee de Orsay in France when I went for a day trip in 2019.

The photo is titled
"Saint PhiliIppe Baptisant.and I have attached the information about the art as well at the gallery.

The Mark Cazalet art of Christ depicted
This is also one of my favourites by Mark Cazalet 1964. I saw it at church and took a photo of it. It speaks to me that Christ also perhaps went through torment in his life in the mind and overcame. On that level it really speaks to me as wel. The artist himself titled the art the Fool of Christ.

The Bloemart of the of the man kneeling and being baptised

Now to me seems to say speak the words receiving God.

This is my first post.

Saint Monica I believe she originally was a black woman on the right.
Black Catholic History Month - Saints Monica & Augustine

Saint Perpetua and Felicity
Just after the death of Pope St. Victor I, St. Perpetua and St. Felicity underwent their martyrdom in Carthage, around 203.

St. Perpetua was a young, well-educated noblewoman and mother living in Carthage in North Africa. Her mother was a Christian and her father was a pagan. Perpetua followed the faith of her mother. Despite the pleas of her father to deny her faith, Perpetua fearlessly proclaimed it.At the age of 22, she was jailed for her faith. While in prison she continued to care for her infant child and put up with tortures designed to make her renounce her faith. Perpetua remained steadfast until the end. St. Perpetua was sacrificed at the games as a public spectacle.

St. Felicity was a pregnant slave girl who was imprisoned with her. Little is known about her life because, unlike Perpetua, she did not keep a diary. After imprisonment and torture, Felicity was also condemned to die at the games.Only a few days before her execution, Felicity gave birth to a daughter, who was secretly taken away to be cared for by some of the faithful.

They share the feast day of March 7, and their names are forever mentioned together in the Roman Canon of the Mass.

The artist is created by Nicholas Mynheer - Rest on the flight to Egypt.
I took the trees photos myself. I was looking at them yesterday these three images and it just made me think of the protective nature of God around when the trees surround as well.

After seeing these I started to think of El Shaddaii and repeating it after so tender and gentle and drew comfort.

I opened today the Good Book itself and a saw lovely print of David and Goliath. I even made a little ditty song about it.
The names for God I looked up myself and thought it would be nice to post after looking and thinking of the plight moved me.

There's an issue on MN at the moment with some very undesirable pictures being uploaded by bad actors, so MN have shut down being able to upload images until they've sorted out ways to deal with that.

Thread about it here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/site_stuff/5267612-update-from-mnhq-addressing-the-recent-images-posted-on-the-site

Today I attended an art workshop at a church group and the picture art we given to work was this scene-The Samaritian woman and the well with Christ. Who was to give her an everlasting well (John 4).

The following art has much meaning to me. The embrace of mother and child says it all to me. The artist is Norman Rockwell and it is called the Golden Rule. It is also enscripted with the words Do unto others which you will find in Matthew.

This is showing in the free collection at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. The text next to it was photographed also. Taken when visited.

The 1st one, two fingers nearly touching of Adam and our creator God depiction has been one of my favourites. It is by Michelangelo who was a devout man himself, as was Leonardo and Raphael the exhibition which I saw finally last week in Royal Academy of Arts. The other was from another depiction from the Book of Genesis as well.

This is not a Christian picture as such, but the words just spoke to me when I went to a Spirituality Chaplaincy centre.

It spoke to me

God is my God of recovery and can recover a situation and stand by you in your darkest times.

I was looking in my Bible today and saw this picture and really liked it. It has been said by some disabled people that God may have a disability and I don't want to get into that. The Bible does speak though of God being on wheels and I love that depiction. God is perfect whether he has any condition or not, he is complete perfection. I like it though given my condition that he is on wheels, it makes it even more closer as well to my own situation in life. With our imperfections we can be complete enough as well. You can see where it is quoted from the picture in the text.
