They don't seem to dissapear under the pressue, they fade but still visable

Sounds more like heat rash if there are no other symptoms. Ring NHS Direct.

If the rash is blanchable (ie it fades) it probably is heat rash.

There are other causes of a non blanching rash. But you DO need to rule out meningitis.

It doesn't sound like meningitis as the rash is normallty a late symptom so they are usually unwell by then.

I think that the first thing NHS direct will say is 999 or A&E.

If you cannot get yourself to a walk-in centre/A&E I think you might be calling an ambulance - for peace of mind if nothing else.

I do think it is an over-reaction, but I think it is probably the best course of action if you have no way to get to Walk-in/A&E.

You don't need to have all the symptoms for it to be meningtis.

IIRC, meningitis rashes are more like a bruise, either purple or red. The child is always very ill, call NHS direct, they are better at this then MN. Hope all is OK

don't do glass test, I don't get it, but press and pull the skin and it should blanch the rash, by blanching, yes, disappear altogether, although only momentarily

arghgot other gass, bigger one and is fading under it, completly going i mean,

am still going to pop gps tomorrow but rash is def goingf away under a 'tumbler' glass instead of crappy wine glass.

My ds had a rash that didn't fade but no other symptoms and dashed to emergency drs who reckoned kids can sometimes get a rash like this on legs and tummy if have been particularly active and running around. I rang NHS direct at the time and they said any rash like that must be checked by Dr though.
