Ds2 is 8 and has been asleep on me for about an hour. Also off his food, hardly eating any birthday cake. Snoring atm.

Flu, virus or something else?

I don't 'spect the news is helping but kids do seem to run spectacular temps for random reasons. I bet he is over the worst.

TripleTroubleMuffin · 13/06/2009 22:24

I hope so.

DH was going to take him out on his own tomorrow but I think a quiet day at home would be better.

Perhaps you could have the quiet day out instead?

Hi ttm, sorry had to go earlier, glad his temp has ben coming down Please don't feel as tho you overreacted. Its underreactions that people truly regret in the long run.

With the unexpected things that I have experienced with my dc I now tend to err on the side of caution.

Hope you get a good night sleep and he's loads better in the morning.

Elibean · 14/06/2009 08:38

How is he today, TTM?

FWIW, I always worry when temps go rushing up - my anxiety level seems to be attached to the reading on the therometer.

Very normal

TripleTroubleMuffin · 14/06/2009 16:43

We checked on him last night when we went to bed and his temp was up again at 38 so we gave him Calpol. He had a good nights sleep and has eaten a bit today but not as much as normal. He has been quieter too so not quite 100%.

Has asked for 3 fish fingers (normally has 4) and a snail I made for tea so hopefully he will be much better tomorrow.

His temp this morning was 37.6.

Thanks for all your advice and support. I am sure I will be panicking again before long.

Don't feel daft. Fully justified for getting in a tizz over a temp of 40C!

TripleTroubleMuffin · 15/06/2009 17:41

Just to update if you didn't see the thread about DS2's low temp. DS1 has tonsillitus.

Hi ttm, how do you get an 8 yr old to eat snails? ~I have enough trouble convincing them to go for veggies

TripleTroubleMuffin · 15/06/2009 19:41

They are festive fruit snails. Dough spread with mincemeat and rolled up to look like a snail. Really nice.

OOh sounds much yummier

Have just read your post about your ds with the low temp, my niece kept having v high temps and then v low, She ended up in hdu before they finally tracked down the problem and they didn't believe my sister at first either. Its good that you are keeping a close eye, don't feel as tho you are being ott. You are not, you are being careful and cautious.

Hope they are both feeling better soon.

TripleTroubleMuffin · 16/06/2009 07:24

Well DS1 tested as 35.6 this morning... Feels hotter than that but seems fine for school.
