Today my 15 week old nephew stopped breathing and had to be given mouth to mouth. He has now been transferred to b'ham childrens hospital, sedated and put on respitery (??) aid. They suspect a viral infection.

I was with him on friday with my 5 week old DD and am now petrified the same could happen

is a viral infection contagious??

any advice gratefully recieved

TIA

Thankyou all, im touched

it was a very big shock to us all after the progress he was making, but the mri scan discovered that his brain continued to swell and that he was braindead so there was really no hope for him

My brother has said that although they only had him for 16 weeks they gave him a happy life and he wanted for nothing. Birmingham childrens hospital were brilliant, putting blankets on him when DB and his DP said he felt cold and keeping him topped up on the maximum amount of morphine to guarentee he could not feel anything. They took his little hand and footprints and some photos to make into a memorial book and let them change him into a clean babygro before they removed the tubes.

It doesn't feel real, i read things like this in take a break, it doesnt happen in real life!!

R.I.P little samuel another twinkling star in the sky.

(DD is absolutly fine thankyou, to all that asked )
