urgent can't give antibiotics to lo..spits it out! urgent!

can you help...little one got bad staph infection, now fever, mother of all colds and also just had mmr

so dead worried

but got to give him this crap antibiotic - why the hell they prescribe the most difficult medicine to give ever i don't know

he keeps spitting it out so so far not had his real dose

have dummy weith plunger, tried spoon, tried syringe but nothing works and he needs his antibiotics!

We were having the same problem, the stuff tastes like earwax, i think id struggle to keep it down.

Just gave him 2.5ml in an Actimel and 2.5ml in some grapes honey and yogurt (5ml is 1 dose for him). He ate both no problem. Certainly gave him a far more reliable dose than the spoon or syringe as he spat some of this out and its difficult to gauge how much.

The advise give to us by our GP was if we had any dificulty over the weekend, take him to the out of hours, we live in the Loch Lomond national park and there is 3 within 45min drive. Failing that take him to A&E.

I think in our case if we had any doubt, we would rather check the options and run what we are doing past a doctor, even if it means a 4 hour wait.

Hi my lo 11 months 2nd little girl has been given antibiotics 5mls 4 tines per day for tonsillitis and mouth ulcers this medicine is vile the smell the taste she tolerated taking it for 3 days but on the 2nd dose of the 4th day she has learned to spit I have tried everything syringe to the cheek ice pop on her tongue and then try it doesn't matter she has expertly learned to spit she sees it coming I'm worried she'll relapse rang doc he says keep trying so I have and no luck spit spit it's called kopen (penicillin) I don't know how they can expect baby to tolerate the taste (tasted myself and it's so bad) any suggestions?
