hiya lisad123 , i,ve got the same worry my son is 4 months old and its only been the last week where i have seen his left pupil is an odd colour when his right one is red , took him to opticians who refered me to gp , but couldnt wait so went to birmingham childrens hospital, there a doctors tried to convince me that all is well , but because it showed up on alot of photos hes gonna refere us to a consultant. so should here something next week , but its not quick enough , going to my gp tonite to see if he can refere us ( different area to birmingham ) to our local hospital and try to get one as early as possible . the wait is absolutly is killing me, when i first saw the photo straight away i could tell something was diierent , my heart stopped , i dont care if people think i,m over reacting or paranoid . i want the best for my son will put photos on when hubby gets home he is the computer whizz .

hi - i live in NZ and too read the article regarding "white eye" in children.
My 3 year old has many photos in my files with this white eye and last week i sheer panicked.
I called a paediatric eye specialist on wednesday last week and forced my way in on the thursday for an appontment. Yes it cost $200 but i would have paid more even if it meant getting a bank loan!
and it was an hours drive away!
The specilaist had just recently removed a toddlers eye for this condition - Leukocoria but advised that my son did not appear to have anything wrong.
I was still worried and showed him more photos.
When he received the photos he immediatley phoned me on the saturday and my son was rushed to hospital on monday morning.
you can imagine i was petrified and had terrible visions of losing my beautiful son.
My weekend was horrible and the monday was worse. We took our son in - he had the eaxmination under general anaethetic and to our immense fortune/luck he is ok. He doesnt have this terrible diesase.

I felt i wanted to add to this thread as if you are even the slightest bit concerned, get your child checked immeadiately.

Beg steal or borrow the money to get them checked and the sooner you get them checked out the sooner they can help.

I truly hope that like us, your child is ok.
this "white eye' is not always a disease.

Hi marieburd, hope your still around! I was wondering how old was your child Dx with Retinoblastoma, My 11 month old was wriggling alot during exam from opthamologist, Dr said he was fine but I felt as if he gave up because my boy was to wriggly. Did your child go under and how old? Thankyou in advance if you reply!
