Vomiting, tummy pain and private pain

DS 10 woke up in the early hours of Sunday vomiting we thought was just a 24/48 hour bug and he’s been off form and feeling sorry for himself. He’s laid on the couch most of the day has been drinking lucozade sport hasn’t kept much of it down. He had a slice of toast last night and that came back up about an hour or so later. He told me this morning he had a little problem trying to wee and had to force it out. I have gotten him an out of hours GP appointment at 9pm. I noticed he was walking a bit funny but though he was mucking about. He’s not vomiting as much but has lots of dry retching.

He now tells me his privates hurt, everything looks okay there but it hurts a the pain goes down his left leg and up to the left side of his tummy. I’ve given him calpol and a hot water bottle over his PJs to see if it helps. The weird thing is he doesn’t have a fever

im in two minds weather we just take him to A&E or wait 3 hours for the GP

OP, I’d ask for a second opinion using Martha’s rule. To be in this much pain for this long doesn’t sound right.

Mischance · 25/03/2026 14:29

I have been wondering how things are going with your son and hoping very much that he is feeling a bit better now.

Infracat · 25/03/2026 23:19

Hi OP. How is your son today?

MuireannOg · 27/03/2026 21:00

Thank you all. They have put in a feed tube yesterday he’s lost so much weight and the vomiting just wasn’t stopping. It’s been incredibly hard week he is sleeping most of the day he had a CT scan today on his tummy and groin. Every time he had a drink he vomits it back up and is still having pain down there but not as bad as it was. All the tests for that have come back okay

How are things @MuireannOg are they giving you any indication?

I hope you are ok, must be such a worry.

MuireannOg · 28/03/2026 18:23

They think it’s an autoimmune disease and waiting for biopsy’s to come back. So far so good today he has not been sick the feeding tube is working but also annoying him I guess it will take a few days to get used to it

Which autoimmune disease, coeliacs?

Monthlymonster · 28/03/2026 18:47

Goodness your poor boy this sounds absolutely horrific.

I hope they manage to make him more comfortable soon and that you are able to look after yourself too.

Mischance · 28/03/2026 19:25

Poor little chap and what a dreadful worry for you. I hope a proper diagnosis will be made soon so treatment can be started.

Avebury · 29/03/2026 10:19

Poor boy. I hope you have some answers very soon.

SoUncertain · 29/03/2026 19:52

Usernamenotfound1 · 30/03/2026 12:53

Any answers yet? Is he still in hospital?

MuireannOg · 31/03/2026 07:35

Yes still in hospital and will be for another week or two. No nothing other than autoimmune disease they said it takes awhile for the biopsy to come back but he’s not vomited yesterday which is a positive step.
we are exhausted from all of this it’s been hard on the other kids they are really feeling down with it all x

Hi OP, hope your son is ok now? No idea why, but this thread just popped into my memory. Hope you’re ok too.

Wjdbxb · 12/04/2026 11:51

I’ve been wondering too. I hope you are both ok and he’s on the mend.
