Vaginal pain in 5 year old at night only

My daughter for the past 6 months or so has complained of pain in her vagina at night. It comes in phases and we’ve been to the doctors twice - no infection.
We’ve treated for threadeorm even though pretty sure it isn’t that, it hasn’t helped anyway.
She only wears nighties to sleep in.
She had baking soda baths but now just has plain water, no soap/bubbles.
We wash hair in the shower so the shampoo is gonna fast.
She screams the house down, beside herself crying saying it hurts. The doctor helpfully told us “girls just have pain down there sometimes”.
she has a prescription cream that we use when it flares up but not to use all the time.
she has an ice pack on her vulva which seems to help but also there’s no visible swelling/redness etc.
If anyone has any advice or any idea what it could actually be please let me know!

Wow. This is really interesting. My DD gets similar, once very 3 months or so and I’ve only ever treated for worms once.

If it was worms and went untreated would it be possible to then not have any problems again for a couple of months?

Yes, its really as to whether they ingest the eggs again.

My dd got worms bad as she was a thumb sucker and carpets at nursery/pre-school/school are just egg havens. They're eating and touching carpets and soft toys etc and reinfecting themselves.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will nip to boots in the morning and get some. As you say won't do any harm to try. X
