60kg fell in my 5 years old head!

Parentingfullofworris · 21/08/2024 16:02

there was this huge teenager standing in the slide and my son thought is funny to slide and try to push him out since he was not moving.

when my son slid; the boy lost balance and fell on my son’s head. The boy is huge, I didn’t see when it happened but I heard my son scream.
I went there to comfort him and all mums here saying don’t take him to A&E.
my sons seems fine and only head a bump in his head.
I couldn’t even tell that teenager off because it was my son’s fault 😭😭😭😭

my sons playing again and it’s like nothing happened and now I feel like I am overreacting.

well clearly 60kg didn’t “land on his head”

Unless your son is invincible

coffeenootropics · 21/08/2024 16:04

overreacting?

you are told to go to a&e

and yet you’ve just started a mumsnet thread

doesn’t seem like any overreacting to me 🤷

thursdaymurderclub · 21/08/2024 16:08

how do you know what happened if you didnt see it?

60kg!! thats a big weight, im sorry but rather than start a post on MN, get in the car and go straight to a&e!

I'm not sure what you think you are overreacting too? if anything you are under-reacting???

you've let your 5 year old child play without keeping an eye on him, he's got hurt (maybe) but its ok he's running about happy as larry now...

coffeenootropics · 21/08/2024 16:14

so you didn’t see it
the people who did see it tell you to take him to a&e
you instead don’t
and start a mumsnet thread asking if you’re over reacting

😆

in any event, clearly it didn’t land on him op

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 21/08/2024 16:15

Sorry I don't quite understand. Who was saying 'take him to A&E' and who was saying not to?

It's hard to picture what happened from what you have posted here .

CooksDryMeasure · 21/08/2024 16:17

It seems unlikely that the entire weight of this teenager fell on his head from what you describe?

Who do you think has told her to go to A&E? In the OP she has said that the other mums there have said NOT to go to A&E

Wishimaywishimight · 21/08/2024 16:18

The other mums said "don't take him to A & E", not "take him".

DinnaeFashYersel · 21/08/2024 16:18

my sons seems fine and only head a bump in his head

I wouldn't bother with A&E. just a big hug.

CatamaranViper · 21/08/2024 16:18

They are all saying you don't need to take him to A&E, as in the ones who saw it happen?

Whatthefuck3456 · 21/08/2024 16:19

Your son just learnt Karma

coffeenootropics · 21/08/2024 16:20

oh i see the other mums said don’t take him and
he seems absolutely fine

60kg didn’t land on him
but if you really think this happened op, then you are massively under reacting

Lovelysummerdays · 21/08/2024 16:20

I mean obviously his full weight didn’t land on your child’s head. Personally I’d keep an eye, pupils equal and reactive, no nausea no dizziness was conscious throughout = no to A and E. If that wasn’t the case we might go for a once over.

coffeenootropics · 21/08/2024 16:20

sure he did 🙄

To slide down to push someone out, for the person to lose balance and fall on her son!

yes it is karma. Maybe OP should learn her child to wait his turn and not to think he can make his way pushing people!

millennialprobs · 21/08/2024 16:22

If he's playing and doesn't have any pains etc, you can ice the bump and just keep an eye on him for now. If he starts to get drowsy or sick or any other concussion symptoms, then take him to A&E

Rory17384949 · 21/08/2024 16:33

I'm sure he'll be fine but keep an eye on him the rest of the day and tonight and if he seems drowsy, dizzy, vomits or feels nauseous or has a bad headache then take him to A&E to get checked out.

he won’t be giving this another thought

he went down the slide
he hurt himself
no learning experience about karma 😆

coffeenootropics · 21/08/2024 16:35

Maybe OP should learn her child

Maybe the Op should teach her child

is surely what you mean?

Parentingfullofworris · 21/08/2024 16:42

Woooooow I didn’t realise I will get advice about my son’s behaviour instead of the incidence. The behaviour already been dealt with, my question was not about that!

thanks for anyone that replied!

Presumably these were kiddie slides. Why did you not make the teen get off. I have done this several times because their size makes them dangerous to small ones

ignore @Whatthefuck3456

an odd one laughi

Beetrickspotter · 21/08/2024 16:48

is the teenager ok?

HamHook · 21/08/2024 16:48

Can you call your GP - see if they can squeeze him before the end of the day to give him a check.

Also look at the advice on concussion - how to spot signs of concussion in a child etc.

It can be delayed and come on later.

itsgettingweird · 21/08/2024 16:49

OP look at the nhs guidelines for doing to a and e.

If he didn't lose consciousness, isn't losing fluid from his nose or ears then you don't need to go Immediately.

If he becomes drowsy, is sick etc in next 24 hours seek advice via 111.

Other than that if he has a bump and is otherwise fine hope he's learnt not to try and shove people out the way by sliding into them!
