Quickest way to get rid of painful verruca- child

I have a child who is an avid footballer and has a verruca. I was planning on sticking Bazuka on it across the summer ;outside of football season) but he’s now telling me it’s hurting when he puts pressure on it.

What’s the quickest way to get rid of it so it’s not sore for weeks and weeks and weeks?

It was quite painful but only very momentarily. Also rather expensive.

Oooh exciting! Is this the SWIFT treatment? How long before you know whether it’s worked?

Hi! @MandyMotherOfBrian yes it is the new SWIFT treatment. I have a cluster of about 15 To 20 Verrucas 😳 plus about 6 others nearby. From talking to the podiatrist any other treatment would be unsuitable.

I have to have 3 bouts of treatment or 4 if ai am unlucky. Each session is 4 weeks after the previous one.

The podiatrist said that sometime she can see the improvement on the second appointment and sometimes not until the 3rd.

She said the success rate is around 80%.

The machine costs £12k!!!!!

Well fingers crossed for you! I am considering this as I got some from my DDs (that they had invariably got from swimming I’m sure) when they were in primary school - they’re at University now so I think I have put up with them long enough! I’ve tried all otc stuff to no avail so was looking at SWIFT. I think I will try it and hope I’m one of the 80%! Anecdotally, my DDs all cleared (she had clusters all over her feet) after she had her HPV vaccine, there’s no official link and it’s a different form of virus but maybe something in it triggered her immune system to get rid of them. Please do update after your other treatments, would be very interested to hear if it solves it for you!

I thoroughly recommend the podiatrist route.

Wartner was wonder stuff !

Ducksurprise · 17/02/2024 14:07

Another that swears by nail varnish then covering with duct tape (proper duct tape)

But only posting as wanting to see update from @dizzydizzydizzy after having swift treatment.

emmaempenadas · 17/02/2024 14:10

I used banana skin and taped it on after I'd tried other methods unsuccessfully.

It worked and fell off very quickly.

Hi @Ducksurprise and @MandyMotherOfBrian Just to let you know the swift verucca treatment is going well. I has my second appointment today and some
Of the smaller verruccas have gone! The others look unhappy!
