She's fallen and her legs all swollen. She's weight baring but she's limping and she's crying intermittently.

This.

Our minor injuries clinic is 45 mins away vs 20 for A&E, but also all done within an hour whereas A&E is at least 6 hours.

Yes but our Minor Injuries isn't 24 hours, and you can only have an xray between 9am and 5pm. So sometimes you need a&e. And many areas only have a&e.

Glad it's not broken but still sounds painful. Thank you for the update.

Unfortunately with things like this the only way to know if it is a break is worth an x-ray. I have had a badly sprained ankle that put me only crutches for 6 weeks where the nurse said "let's pop you to x-ray to see which bone is broken" and my sister broke her leg and a &e only did the x-ray just to make sure it wasn't a break as they were fairly sure it was soft tissue only. She was mobile a lot quicker than I was!
Plenty of rest and cuddles are needed x

I would caveat all of this with we have a tendency to think of a break as worse but DS leg fracture and DD torn foot ligaments actually took a similar time to heal. His green stick wrist fracture was actually the quickest.

it’s painful and takes time to heal
