Hi,

thank you for taking the time to read this.

I’ve called 111 and am waiting for a response. For context, I went to the Drs today as my daughter has been unusually tired for about a month, complaining of tummy pain, night sweats and unable to walk as much. We’ve been scheduled blood tests for 2 weeks time. Whilst getting my daughter into the bath, I noticed a non blanching rash across her chest. I’ve called 111 and am now waiting for an out of hours dr to call me back. Should I wait, or take her to A&E?

With a non blanching rash definitely a and e

NeatMauveScroller · 07/02/2024 20:05

Take her, you will all feel better for it. It could be post viral, but you never know. Let the experts tell you and get some answers, otherwise you'll be sitting worrying all night. Good luck x

nevertrustanyoneagain · 07/02/2024 20:07

Please get her checked out asap x

CheeseandGherkins · 07/02/2024 20:07

Take her. Better to be safe and get checked out. Hope she's ok and take a bag with snacks, charger etc

eggbot · 07/02/2024 20:08

Go now

Needahandholdplease2023 · 07/02/2024 20:08

Non blanching rash? Go now. Hope she is ok x

Snowdropsarecoming · 07/02/2024 20:10

A and E.

ExcitingRicotta · 07/02/2024 20:12

Take her - 111 will just tell you take her after ages of waiting anyway.

Overthebow · 07/02/2024 20:20

Yes definitely go. Have you taken her temperature?

RosieAway · 07/02/2024 20:23

Just go.

Tadah2 · 07/02/2024 20:41

Thank you for responding. Ok, I’m on my way in. These non blanching pin pricks go across her chest. Family members are saying it’s nothing and that it’s just a scratch - but surely this is Petechiae

This is the work of a previously banned poster - we're taking it down now.

Yes I would take her too with that rash and the symptoms. Make sure you tell them about the other symptoms. I would be concerned by that rash too.

Atlasstars1 · 07/02/2024 21:30

They are definitely petichaie so good spot and for taking her in. They can be caused by a nasty viral infection but always good to get it checked - they will be glad you brought her in 👍

StampOnTheGround · 07/02/2024 21:32

Glad you are on your way in, hope everything is okay!

Jagley · 07/02/2024 21:33

Glad you're on your way to a&e, good luck.

Lucilledeville · 07/02/2024 21:34

Good luck

Lucilledeville · 07/02/2024 21:35

I mean I hope you get seen quickly and all is well. Good luck at a and e these days can mean something different and wasn't meant to sorry

Whoopaday · 07/02/2024 21:35

100% you did the right thing in taking her in, even without the background the rash is enough to get seen now. I’m surprised 111 didn’t tell you to go in.

nocoolnamesleft · 07/02/2024 21:37

I hope you're already in A&E. Never take a chance with a non blanching rash.

PeggySooo · 07/02/2024 21:37

It does look like petechaie yes

Mamaspegg · 07/02/2024 21:45

Aww hope all is ok! My 6 month old had the same on his leg a few weeks ago but doctor thought it may have been a viral infection. So hopefully this is just one of those things. Just horrible when it's non blanching isn't it, we instantly worry but never worth taking a chance with it.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 07/02/2024 21:48

You've done exactly the right thing
I hope she's ok

Boatshoes · 08/02/2024 11:19

Hope your LO is ok, OP. Yes, you should always get non blanching rashes checked out by a medic, especially if your child presents with other symptoms. All the best

Winnipeggy · 08/02/2024 13:15

Any update OP?
