Anyone else have a very pale child?

Just this really.
my dd6 is sooooo pale. As in Snow White pale. Every time we see a dr whatever reason (tonsillitis, uti, normal viruses) they all immediately say “she’s anaemic” and order bloods. I’ve had 2 pretty amazed when they came back normal, and worst one was a junior dr who prepared me for leukaemia die to a cough + pallor.
she does look Ill, she is very pale with dark eye circles that appear when she’s tired. But she is ok! i increasingly (madly) find myself looking in envy at ruddy / olive /rosy skinned kids as they just look so healthy!
she has also been tested for coeliac as is
small for age but that was clear too.
i just hate that she looks poorly when she’s not. It makes me second guess all the time and wonder if she is ☹️

Ds is almost translucent and has blond hair so in the summer he almost vanishes! He gets dark circles under his eyes too but I think it's partly the stark contrast to the very pale skin.

For anyone using floradix, make sure you don't keep it in the fridge door, the magnets do something to render it less effective (I can't remember exactly what, but the health visitor warned me when dd was a newborn and she told me I needed it!)

My DD is a strawberry blonde/classic ginger. Very pale, but it looks less surprising against the orange hair.

Sometimes hair colour will affect how skin colour looks - DS is dirty blond and often looks paler unless they're next to each other where he's clearly much darker than she is. Still on the bluer shades of white ..

Gosh these are so interesting!
i actually have no idea what her blood type is, and given I’m a huge health worrier I’m surprised I don’t!
she has light brown/ very dark blonde hair and I think when she was younger and her hair was much fairer it was somehow less noticeable maybe

I was super pale as a child. Teachers would stop me and ask if I was feeling okay, it began to give me an appearance complex in secondary school. I would work on finding clothes in a colour palette that suit her. And when she's older support in make-up that is her colouring to enhance her features.

My daughter was pale with dark circles under her eyes. After blood test gp would say results were normal. Thankfully I refused to believe there was nothing wrong with my daughter and pushed further for ut to be investigated. Long story short turned put she had crohns disease.
Problem is with a gp reading blood test results if any readings are borderline they read that as normal.
No child should be pale with dark circles under their eyes so I would push further.

Is she full of energy otherwise? Or does she get tired easily? Can she run for quite a while without flopping down?
If I were you and it was worrying me and causing a lot of anxiety, I'd travel to a city where you could just do a heart check up. I THINK you'd be looking at about £250 for an appointment. But it would really put your mind at rest, as once you know the heart structure is healthy, that's not going to change. I don't think it necessarily needs to be paediatrics.

Other than that, read up on iron absorption. The difference between heme and non heme iron sources and also iron absorption and how that varies. Don't take iron with dairy as dairy prevents the iron from being absorbed. Or with black or green tea for adults. Do take with Vit C. Some people absorb iron much more readily than others. You can buy pills that are dessicated cow liver and are very readily absorbed.

Hope that helps!

My whole family is rhesus negative as is my husbands. His family are all quite pale with blonde hair and blue eyes. My family are all fairly olive skinned with hair colours from black to blonde. Not sure blood type is affecting skin tone. Having said that one of my children is also small and pale. He is the fairest by far of my children and I have the same worries about him constantly. We think his is a combination of being naturally very fair and also being asthmatic, when his oxygen drops he looks dreadful. He isn’t anaemic as we’ve had it tested. He’s also very slight which adds to his frail appearance.
