Why only London?

My problem is that I ask way too many questions.

I think it's more that you won't listen to any answers.

👌

liveforsummer · 10/08/2022 14:31

Thank you so much for this post. I was starting to wonder whether I was speaking in an incomprehensible language!

But that pp have you pretty much the same answer as everyone else 🤷🏼‍♀️

No vaccine is 100% effective. Giving the extra booster will help provide more cover to protect those who are most likely to be at risk.

you seem to be trying to over complicate things

Dalint · 10/08/2022 14:46

Nah. I know exactly what's going on. I can read between the lines.

I hope that tinfoil hat isn’t too hot in this weather!

SoupDragon · 10/08/2022 14:52

Isn't it likely to be that the vaccination schedule is fine when there is "normal" risk of a disease but in times when there is a sudden (inexplicable?) rise then a booster is a good idea?

Do explain? I'd be interested. If you can, make it sound plausible rather than like a conspiracy theory.

I was totally supportive when you started asking, though you seemed a little over anxious.

You started off with "why only London?" which was fully explained in the article you linked to and which you clearly haven't read. Then you appeared to launch into full blown conspiracy mode, missing the whole "offered" part of the booster programme. It isn't compulsory.

sunglassesonthetable · 10/08/2022 15:08

Either, they know that the typical one given does not work or they have discovered that it does not work!

Hmm, I'm no scientist but I can see this is flawed logic.

I don't believe you're 'not a layperson'. You don't sound it. Why would you be on MN spouting off?

Don't take the vaccine if you don't want it! It's not a punishment it's a bloody privilege to be able to have it.

Why don't you enlighten us?

Dalint · 10/08/2022 15:15

Our children are not vaccinated adequately. If they were, they wouldn't need a booster.

Dalint · 10/08/2022 15:18

I do not have a child under ten, but if I lived in London and had, I would be beating my way to the top of the queue.

They were adequately vaccinated according to risk, surely? Now the risk has increased so the vaccination program is upping its game. Have you ever heard of risk?

MissConductUS · 10/08/2022 15:26

They have the same issue in New York and there has been one case of a person being affected.

I'm in NY. Public health authorities have said that that case is very likely just the tip of the iceberg.

No, I was never a Risk Manager.

No not the question tbh.

picklemewalnuts · 10/08/2022 15:39

Ok, so you don't live in London and don't have a young child. So this is totally irrelevant to you.

Hopefully some anxious parent will read the thread and be reassured, because otherwise everyone's wasted their time. Confused

It was deflecting the question. You would know that if you ever worked in Risk.

I don't think they understand risk, or about vaccines either tbh

😄 Nope don't work 'in Risk'
