Hy.. My 1 year 6 months fell and hit the toilet corner and now has a dent on his forehead which shows so much and so bad when he cries and frowns and even smile, the dent has been here for a week. When you touch it it is curved inwards. I want to know if the dent will dissappear, or maybe heal abit and not show too much and when should I expect changes to this dent. It is worrying me I feel bad for this.

What did the doctor say when you took him to be checked out? Did they xray his head? I am sorry I cant see anything on that picture.

clickychicky · 09/08/2022 06:20

I would take him to the doctor as soon as you can

Howthehelldoiknow · 09/08/2022 06:22

Hello, It so worrying when toddlers have a fall. Have you had him seen by a doctor yet?

Howthehelldoiknow · 09/08/2022 06:24

Also dont feel bad as most small children have falls etc. It is really important you get a doctor to look at it. It will put your mind at rest also.

Rumplestrumpet · 09/08/2022 06:25

You need to get him seen by a doctor - kids bump their heads all the times the Dr knows that and see s it all the time. Often it's nothing but with head injuries it's always best to have it checked

Yes most children fall over so don't worry but I think a doctor should take a look. You can't be too cautious when it comes to heads.

Please take your child to see a doctor when it is head injury so it is checked out .

My friend's father constantly got headaches for several months and no one knew why and thought it was just bad posture , and he flew to New York to see his daughter. She dragged him to see a specialist. Turns out he had a brain bleed and needed surgery. After much thinking, he realized he had hit his head on the corner of the kitchen cabinet door, and dismissed it.

Please self educate on what to do when babies and kids have bumps on heads, especially near the temple area.

Mine hit his cheek on the corner of a table at a similar age. Wasn't terribly bad but must have caused some tissue damage as since then he has had a little dimple there - now age 7.

JustDanceAddict · 09/08/2022 07:29

Def see a GP re the dent. They say don’t worry about ‘eggs’, but not sure about dents

AnImaginaryCat · 09/08/2022 07:55

When did it happen?

If it was recent and he's not seen a doctor then you need to take him to hospital without any more delay so it can be investigated.

If it was a while back, he's seen a doctor and you know there's no issue, you can phone your GP (who will have information from the hospital doctors) and ask if it'll disappear

Francinah21 · 09/08/2022 08:02

Yes I have seen a GP and reffered me to an xray and the xray came out and they said his skull has not fractured... Should I get a second opinion from a different doctor.. I just want the dent to dissappear I just want to know if anyone s baby have had it and it dissappeared.

My DS has the same. A fairly innocuous knock on the cheek and he’s still got a dimple there 10 years later

Francinah21 · 09/08/2022 09:12

Yes mommies I have seen a GP and we did xrays just wanted to know if anyone experienced this with their kids and did the dent dissappear

How long ago did it happen

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 09/08/2022 09:36

I did this to myself - exactly the same, sink/toilet/head - when I was 36. It took about 3 months for the dent to go.

Francinah21 · 09/08/2022 09:56

What's the dent like that mommy?

Mine’s 18 and still has a little dimple from when he hit his head on a chair. It’s only noticeable to those of us who know it’s there 😊

CarlCarlson · 09/08/2022 10:07

Why do people phrase replies like this. You’re not a teacher speaking to a child. Patronising

DS hit his head really hard on the pavement when he was 4. He had a large red mark on his forehead for ages. Even when it looked like it had healed, it would go bright red when he laughed or cried. I thought that would be a permanent mark, but it did go away eventually.

Francinah21 · 09/08/2022 10:13

So with time I'd decreases in size?

This one is a dent and it's like it's curved inward and goes inward when he cries and frowns
