Benign breast development in a 7 year old

My Dd just turned 7 last month she is 116cm tall so she is just above the 9th centile for height and weight.
Last April she started complaining of pain in her nipples and when i felt them there were hard disk shaped lumps.
I took her to the doctor who said we would keep a watch and to come back a few months later.
I took her back in July and she said that is wad definitely breast buds but she would probably stay like this for the next few years and to come back if any other other puberty symptoms appeared such as hair etc.
I took my daughter back last week as she is now getting rounder and fuller in her chest and they passed it on to the paediatrician who phoned me back today to say this was Benign breast development but all normal a little early but it can take years and that girls are developing earlier.
Has anyboody else experienced this as i am worried for my Dd she seems so young and little for this to be happening.
My other children are all boys and didn't start puberty until 13+.

Hi all, just dropping by to say that we've taken a look behind the scenes and can see that the OP has been on the site for several years with no problems.

Hi OP. Ignore the paranoia from other posters. They’re always like this about any health conditions relating to intimate body areas and kidsLook up CAH. It can trigger early puberty. PM me if useful.

Don’t delete, people are right to get mumsnet to check in this kind of question though.

I can tell you of a 7 year old girl who had breast buds. Had a bra from 10 or 11. Periods started at 12. Boobs a bit bigger than average as an adult but not massive. So all very normal.

Angliski · 24/03/2022 12:55

I got my period at 10, but 7 is still really early for budding…

aldilemonade · 24/03/2022 13:00

I would not be concerned if this had started at 10 to me 7 is so young.
No other signs of puberty.
Im not asking anybody to tell me intimate things about there child

As others have said puberty is starting earlier in both sexes then previous generations. The NHS website classes early as before 8 so you were right to take her to the doctors but even the NHS website says early puberty affects mostly girls often with no underlying health conditions. I'm sorry shes going through this so early but its promising that the docs have checked her over.
I remember one of my cousins starting to get her periods around 7/8 it scared the shit out of her as we were thought no kind of sex ed in primary school ( Irish catholic schools in the 90s)

Update to my post
my daughter’s growth is still ongoing and no other signs of puberty.
She has also jumped up to the 50th centile in height.
She is now being investigated for a possible tumour in her pituitary gland.
