Would you allow your 10 year olds to have a Caramel Latte from McDonald’s?

He desperately wants one, been asking for months.

He always has a milkshake which is very unhealthy anyway, I am thinking about the caffeine.

Would you allow it?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes

GreyhoundG1rl · 16/10/2021 10:43

Yes.

Rainbowheart1 · 16/10/2021 10:43

Yh, why not? There is no age limit on it, it’s not a age restricted drink

Chemenger · 16/10/2021 10:45

Do they do decaf?

ISpyCobraKai · 16/10/2021 10:45

Yes, Dd had whatever she wanted to drink at that age (not alcohol obvs)

TopTabby · 16/10/2021 10:46

Yes, fine for a treat. It's not strong coffee & really is more like a milkshake. Not the healthiest but ok once in a while.

toolazytothinkofausername · 16/10/2021 10:46

Perhaps ask how many shots of coffee they put in it?

My son likes to have a Tall Caramel macchiato from Starbucks, but instead of putting in 2 shots of coffee I ask if they put in 1.

Valhalla17 · 16/10/2021 10:46

Not if its coffee...no

MercedesBenz · 16/10/2021 10:46

Yes

jazzandh · 16/10/2021 10:49

yes. My 10 (nearly 11 year old) often has milky coffee at home as well).

Workinghardeveryday · 16/10/2021 10:50

Thank you all, I will go with the majority and let him have one😁

I'm old, in the winter they used to give us milky coffee at primary school. I don't get the banning caffeine until children are 18.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 16/10/2021 10:56

I drank coffee from I was 8. I’m still alive.

lazylinguist · 16/10/2021 10:56

Why don't you just ask for a decaf one?!

I've never heard of banning caffeine till 18+, it's not alcohol Confused As a one in a while treat it's OK, I wouldn't make it a regular occurrence.
crymeapuddle · 16/10/2021 10:59

Try asking for a decaf

RubyFowler · 16/10/2021 11:01

I'd probably be fine with it but unless he's tasted coffee before I'd probably be prepared that he might not actually like it.

Jobsharenightmare · 16/10/2021 11:03

Caffeine is a drug so personally we've only allowed decaf until 16.

LividLaVidaLoca · 16/10/2021 11:04

McDonald’s don’t do decaf.

I’d say it’s fine as a one-off treat. But I let my toddler suck my cappuccino foam Brew

DoraMaude · 16/10/2021 11:04

I've been drinking tea since I was a small child (I'm in my 50s). All ok so far. I can't see the harm in a 10 year old having an occasional coffee.

MajorCarolDanvers · 16/10/2021 11:05

Yes

2bazookas · 16/10/2021 11:12

I'd allow one as a special treat; but it would not become a regular habit.

Subbaxeo · 16/10/2021 11:12

One of my childhood treats was sweet instant coffee made with milk before bed. I’m now pushing 60-still like my one cup of coffee a day although now I have a grinder!

Do you veto coke (as in cola!) and other caffeinated fizzy drinks too? Just being nosy.

I don't get this either. I actually thought this was a joke. Someone seriously asking if a 10 yo kid can have a milky coffee?! 🤣
