I’m on hold with 111.
I posted earlier.
DD was seen at GP who was worried about dehydration. I was to call out of hours if she hadn’t peed by 8pm. She had a pee about 6pm but has developed this bruise mottle type rash. Temp still 40 despite regular calpol. Brufen makes her vomit.
Does this rash look serious? I’m worried about something more sinister such as sepsis.

Urgent please

Go to A&E, can't be too careful with kids and that's a very high temp x

MyDcAreMarvel · 23/01/2019 19:09

Does it blanch?

If you’re worried then you need to take her to a walk in centre or a&e especially if a rash has appeared

3luckystars · 23/01/2019 19:10

Can you go to an actual doctor tonight?

What are your options?

TheSheepofWallSt · 23/01/2019 19:10

Fuck off 111 and call 999 or go direct to A&E now and tell them you believe she has sepsis as soon as you walk in the door.

Chocolatecake12 · 23/01/2019 19:10

Someone at the other end of a phone will not be able to see the rash.
Take her to a&e to be seen

Nomorecakes · 23/01/2019 19:11

It doesn’t completely disappear. Just goes a lighter colour.

Rash doesn’t look terrible but if you can’t get her temp down with paracetamol I’d consider taking her to a&e.

Meemee178 · 23/01/2019 19:12

Non blanching rash and temperature that’s not responding to calpol that would be A&E if it were mine.

TheSheepofWallSt · 23/01/2019 19:12

@nomorecakes

Seriously- this is in its purest sense an emergency. It is an emergency that sepsis is either diagnosed or discounted, ASAP. Go.

ruby29 · 23/01/2019 19:14

A&E. 999 is appropriate

PotteringAlong · 23/01/2019 19:16

Non blanching rash and a High temp? A&E now

TheClaifeCrier · 23/01/2019 19:17

A&E now.

Quartz2208 · 23/01/2019 19:19

its is spreading

But even so yes a temp that doesnt go down A&E

Fightthebear · 23/01/2019 19:20

I would also take her to A&E to be in the safe side.

Nomorecakes · 23/01/2019 19:20

Yep. Just taking her in

TheSheepofWallSt · 23/01/2019 19:23

Well done @nomorecakes

The thing to say to them is that she has “multiple red flags for sepsis” say it to everyone.

Non responsive high temp
Reduced urine output
Non blanching rash

Repeat repeat repeat until she has seen a doctor

LittleMissNaice · 23/01/2019 19:23

I think that's the right thing to do OP. Sending best wishes Flowers

Fiddie · 23/01/2019 19:28

Hope all is well.

Tiredeyes21 · 23/01/2019 19:30

Hope she okay OP

LaurenOrdering · 23/01/2019 19:31

When DD was younger she had the same symptoms & the same rash.
The GP who saw us said she didn't think it was sepsis but she didn't want to take the risk. GP rang the hospital paediatrics dept to to tell them she was sending us straight over.
DD had bloods taken, straight on antibiotics, 2 days in hospital. It was a Streptococcal A Infection & they can be very severe if not treated promptly.

bunnyrabbit93 · 23/01/2019 19:32

Well done OP. Hope all goes well
