Phoned GP and they said if he has no temp or other significant symptoms, he should come in this afternoon (appointment at 4pm) but I'm beginning to worry more and more and think A&E would be the best bet??? My son is 11 btw

I would take him to a&e but that's because I've never seen a rash like that. Hope he's ok.

fairgame84 · 16/09/2017 13:01

A&E
Looks like HSP which will need a paeds assessment anyway

Battyoldbat · 16/09/2017 13:01

Does it blanch? I'd go to a&e with my kids with that, if there's an absence of any cause of the rash

JillJ72 · 16/09/2017 13:01

I agree, A&E, because the rash to me looks under the skin rather than outside.

PotteringAlong · 16/09/2017 13:01

I'd go to AandE with that

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/09/2017 13:02

I think I'd wait until the gp appointment because I think that might get you through the system faster. I wouldn't blame you for a&e though.

MorningCuppa · 16/09/2017 13:02

I would go to A&E as well.

Itscurtainsforyou · 16/09/2017 13:03

A&e

BusterGonad · 16/09/2017 13:04

I wouldn't even be MNetting, I'd be straight to A&E!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/09/2017 13:04

Go with what everyone else says.

DarlingCharlie12 · 16/09/2017 13:06

I only asked because like someone said the GP/clinic would be quicker as it is ooh appointment only, as waiting in A&E is very long.

Thanks all though think I will go

Does your son have aching joints? Swollen ankles etc? If so, this looks like HSP (henoch scholein purpura). My daughter had this, it can cause other complications so I would go to A&E.

BumWad · 16/09/2017 13:07

A&E

TurquoiseChevrotain · 16/09/2017 13:07

Yeah, A&E!

fairgame84 · 16/09/2017 13:09

You won't be waiting long with a rash like that.

MaMisled · 16/09/2017 13:11

Good luck. Please update us.

PacificDogwod · 16/09/2017 13:12

If he has no fever and is otherwise well, keep the GP appointment.
Take a urine sample in when you go.

You'll get seen quicker and the GP can refer you straight to paeds, rather than hanging around A+E for hours.

I agree, could well be HSP but nobody here can diagnose him.

MistyMinge · 16/09/2017 13:13

Does he have any symptoms? Has the rash worsened in the last hour? If no, I think I'd be inclined to wait for doctors. If they want him seen at hospital they will phone ahead and get him in the system. If yes, then take him to a&e. That being said I also believe in instinctS.

DragonBone · 16/09/2017 13:13

Hope he's ok OP x

MistyMinge · 16/09/2017 13:14

*other symptoms

HappyAsASandboy · 16/09/2017 13:15

I would go to A&E, and if I was still waiting when it's time for the GP appointment I'd go to the appointment.

Assuming the two places are not two hours in opposite directions ....

happymumof4crazykids · 16/09/2017 13:19

A&e hope your son is ok and it's nothing too serious Flowers

youarenotkiddingme · 16/09/2017 13:24

Actually sandboys idea sounds like a great one. That's what often happens in reverse at local a and e triage. They tell people it's a gp issue and they ring OOh from outside and get an appointment the next floor up!

Opheliasgoldenwine · 16/09/2017 18:28

How'd he get on OP?Flowers
