Fainting and seizures in 7 year old

Hi all.

In Nov 15 dd collapsed. I thought she had fainted although she wasn't pale/clammy. It took her a few minutes to fully come round and recover. Took her to GP.

In August 16 she collapsed again, this time she was fitting for around 10 seconds and conscious throughout. She complained of a pain in her head before collapsing. Took her to GP again, referred for bloods and ECG. All came back normal except urea was high on bloods - 8.4. Dr wrote to GP saying it was just fainting.

Last week dd collapsed again, same as the last episode, sharp head pain just before but the fitting was more severe and it took around 15 minutes for her to recover. Called 111 who sent an ambulance and was seen in a&e. All her observations were normal, then when she had her bloods taken she fainted soon after. Classic pale, grey, sweaty faint followed by another seizure.

Bloods came back high for urea again, so she has been referred for repeat bloods, an EEG and kidney ultrasound.

Dd drinks ok so I don't think she is dehydrated, but have been keeping an eye on her fluids since. Does anybody have any advice/experience/knowledge of these symptoms as I am very worried about her.

Thanks

Appointment ok thanks. He's well atm so not a lot to discuss! They considered migraine but they last for 15 secs to 3 minutes and don't always preclude a headache. Ds has the crosses adductor reflex so basically conclusion is it's all to do with his cross wired central nervous system. Sees his specialist neuro in a few weeks.

Good luck for eeg. Glad to hear dd not had anymore seizures lately.

Glad he's well atm kidding. It's bloody endless isn't it Flowers.

Dd is going away this weekend on an activity type trip with a club she's part of. I'm on edge, I'm expecting a phone call on Sat or Sun morning to say that she's had a seizure Sad. I've hidden it from dd that I'm concerned, I don't want to stop her doing normal things but it tires her out.

It's when my son gets overtired he tends to have an episode.

Luckily most have occurred at home. All have occurred when I'm there (except 1 but he was with my dad).

He also gets overly tired when he does physical stuff. Interestingly though his swimming doesn't have the same as walking etc. Just as well as he trains 8 hours a week!

Same! They have all happened at home except one in A&E a while back. Dd just seems to be at about 80% strength all the time, so we sort of forget until we have a too busy day and she's wiped out.

Dd loves swimming too, I need to put more effort into that. She has no arm strength at all she struggles opening doors etc. Doesn't help that she's so skinny either.

Ds has very limited strength in his body too. His upper body strength is good now but his legs still lack it - or rather he struggles to get power from them when swimming!

Swimming is great for him because it acts as physio.
