I have moved this to child health board as I don't think aibu is appropriate anymore.
What began as a quick question has become 2 now 3
The support on these threads has highlighted the best qualities of mumsnet and I am so grateful to every lovely person who has supported me so far! Thanks

Was just about to mention hyper mobility. It can affect everything (bowels included)

Footle · 01/05/2016 13:13

It was mentioned on the first thread too. Hopefully Littlemae will eventually get a diagnosis that takes into account all the pieces of the jigsaw.

porkypine · 01/05/2016 20:13

Sounds like she should be checked for spina bifida occulta. I've sent you a pm, littlemaemae.

littlemaemae · 04/05/2016 14:07

Hi everyone, thank you for the suggestions. I have been doing lots of research on what has been mentioned so I have a long list of tests to ask for when we see the gastro on Friday.
She is impacted again, distended and in pain. Nurse thinks she should probably go back into hospital.
But big DD is really ill with a virus and DP is out of the country on business, back tomorrow night.
I haven't got time to look after either child properly. I'm torn between cleaning up sick and wiping bums.

Oh Mae, you must be so fed up with everything, keep going though you're doing a great job and with all the research you've done you can ensure they check for everything.

VagueIdeas · 04/05/2016 14:46

Oh, what a complete nightmare.

But, being admitted lends weight to your case that this is serious and not manageable anymore. If you're lucky, you may get fast tracked straight to a bowel biopsy - if they accept that another week of Kleen Prep isn't going to get DD anywhere.

I know that's tough with DD1 being so ill though Sad

MeanwhileHighAboveTheField · 04/05/2016 16:10

Wishing things would get easier for you and your family Flowers

Footle · 04/05/2016 17:07

Hope big one gets over it fast, and little one doesn't catch it. I think you said you were going away - I hope it bore some resemblance to a holiday, but it doesn't sound like it.

Hissy · 04/05/2016 17:18

Oh love :(

(((((((Hug)))))))

Don't know what else to do. Is there any family that can help out?

littlemaemae · 04/05/2016 17:22

We are going away in 3 weeks to Spain, I don't know how we are going to deal with DDs problems. I have bought a few washable bambino mio swim nappies to wear under her costume for a bit of extra protection. Will take lots of panty liners for her too. We can only take hand luggage so hopefully nappies and wipes don't cost a bomb. I will get a foldable travel potty too
I think I'm going to have to put her on a Max dose movicol clear out with the Senna and picosulfate for a week before we go. And hope that gives us a few days relief.
It's all looking pretty miserable now though if I'm honest.

Oh LittleMae, I'm so sorry this is still on-going. Flowers

Thinking about the walking - I have ms and have pain when walking, but if I go on a treadmill I can walk much much further and faster too. My gym-man says it's because it's consistent and smooth. Maybe dd would find it fun to go on a treadmill with you for a slow walk (maybe with a tablet to watch, at the same time, she might actually not notice she's walking).

Headofthehive55 · 04/05/2016 19:59

That's exactly how we manage - you learn when it's more convenient to have a clear out and when it's not so easy.

fraggle84 · 04/05/2016 21:54

Have you got travel insurance? Wonder if not it you get it asap they might cover as she hasn't got a diagnosis yet

SophieofShepherdsBush · 04/05/2016 22:09

Bless you. What a tough time you've had. All I can offer is sympathy..... You poor thing, your poor babies. Hang in there, you have been so strong already. Flowers

littlemaemae · 04/05/2016 22:09

Boaty, very interesting about the walking I am glad you have found something that works for you.
sorry to hear that you are unwell. I don't know too much about MS but a family friend has it and I know that it is very hard going Flowers
I can imagine her little body on a treadmill, adorable. I wonder if they do small ones for dogs kids.

I think things have gone from one extreme to the other - no help offered bar lactulose and not I feel like they will be wanting to make admissions in panic, when really she is probably OK to be at home. I won't complain though, we are very lucky it's being taken so seriously!

My mum would be happy to help but has pretty bad MH problems and I don't want to put too much onto her and sometimes it causes me more emotional stress than it's worth. May as well get on with it myself. Atleast I don't have to worry about trying to hold a job down too, like a lot of mums have to. so I can't complain on that front either.

littlemae have the passports come through yet?[Flowers]

littlemaemae · 04/05/2016 22:28

I got mine back within 2 days.
I went yesterday to get the girls passports on the 1 week service but we realised on the morning that on little DDs birth certificate, both mine and dps names had spelling mistakes different to our passports. So I'm really hoping that doesn't cause an issue as we are running out of time. Won't relax until they are in my hand!

Have you got the health cards from the DoH ( might be a different department, but they get you free treatment abroad if you're within the EU). It may be that they have a better (temporary) treatment than what we have here - let's face it, they've got to have something more effective than lactulose.

jay55 · 05/05/2016 11:40

Hopefully the sun and some time in the water will help her with the pain. It won't be much of a break for you as the worry goes with you.

littlemaemae · 05/05/2016 12:49

Would I need the show the nhs card that you get when they are born? That's long gone! there should be some substitute I could get hold of from the doctors hopefully.
I was actually saying to dp the other day that they might end up having a really effective treatment, if worst comes to worst.

For me any day without bum wiping whilst I'm trying to cook, would be a holiday! Grin

It's called an EHIC card. It's free and you apply online. Make sure it's a proper uk government site - some scam ones charge you money. Of course if we leave Europe we won't need them but you all need them at the moment ( and hopefully will go on needing them ! ).
It should arrive very quickly - you need one each.

littlemaemae · 05/05/2016 13:48

Thank you footle! I Have applied online

passportmess · 05/05/2016 15:06

Fingers crossed for the passport littlemae.

Footle · 05/05/2016 17:37

Mae, you've done me a favour - I've just looked at mine and it's about to run out !

LindorBunny · 05/05/2016 17:50

If there is a boots at the airport past security you can order stuff to be collected and it doesn't count as luggage.
