It must be going somewhere - if it isn't coming out he must be getting bigger somewhere.

LocalEditorLincolnshire · 24/02/2014 21:42

Where is it going though? How odd!

kipplin · 24/02/2014 21:43

Has he had a bath in the last 48 hours? Any chance he could have done a sneaky wee then?!

Peanut917 · 24/02/2014 21:46

Ild love to know where it is going. He looks no different to me. At this moment ds is all snuggled up to me and placing my hand on his tummy. I know where I shall be tomorrow. X

If he hasn't had a wee in all that time I would be going to A&E.

Peanut917 · 24/02/2014 21:51

Local does he looking different to u?? He's had 2 baths to sooth his pox - he usually stands first for a wee it hasn't. Unless he has done it while sat down. X

Lunar. I've seen 2 x gp (1 at A&E and 1 local practise), a nurse and senior nurse at A&E (walk in) they just go on about dehydration. X

LocalEditorLincolnshire · 24/02/2014 21:57

No he looks no different to me just spottier and perhaps a little unhappier.

For anyone that's wondering peanut and I are friends and I directed her here to get advice.

Peanut has called 111, been to an OOH apt, been to the GP and been to A&E walk in. Not one person she has seen has been worried about this.

Her DS and mine are the same age and I know that 2yos pee way more than this. He is drinking 2 x 500ml bottles of water per hour. Twice or thrice as much as normal.

Why are no HCPs worried about this? They have made her feel like an over anxious mother Sad

beautifulgirls · 24/02/2014 21:58

Is there a different hospital you can go to?

LocalEditorLincolnshire · 24/02/2014 21:59

She has been to two diff hospitals already.

Peanut917 · 24/02/2014 22:01

I've been to both hospitals around us. X

GlaikitFizzog · 24/02/2014 22:02

Could he have weed in the bath? If he is sore wth the pox, the bath might make it less painful to wee.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Peanut917 · 24/02/2014 22:05

He may have I don't know 100%. But overnight when he's changed in the morning and it's dry Sad. Thank you x

He'd be gaining a kilo an hour if that much fluid was going in but not coming out. My 3 year old weighs about 16 kg, so we'd notice her gaining a few extra kg. Try weighing him before and after a bath. If he is seeing in the bath then he will lose weight.

beautifulgirls · 24/02/2014 22:09

Sorry you have been fobbed off here. I would go back anyway to one or other hospital. Probably different shift staff depending which one you went to previously and when. If they want a nurse to see you and you are not happy tell them you want a doctor to see him and until they can prove to you that everything is ok you will not be happy. Being well hydrated does not prove that the kidneys are working properly at all. Either somehow he has managed to wee without you knowing or there is a problem - blood tests should give you an idea of how the kidneys are coping. Either way I wouldn't be happy to be fobbed off like this if I genuinely believed there was a problem as you clearly do.

I hope that all is well and you get some answers soon.

Peanut917 · 24/02/2014 22:18

Thank u. I'm going to weigh nappy in the morning when he wakes And do a bath with weighing him too. He had check on weds with hv so I have an up to date weight to compare with. If my gp fob me off again I will be back at the nicer A&E afternoon time with different shift x

beautifulgirls · 24/02/2014 22:31

please let us know how he is doing tomorrow.

Peanut917 · 24/02/2014 22:46

I will. Uve all been great. X

NCISaddict · 24/02/2014 22:56

I think if he's been drinking and not had a wee in all that time he would be in significant pain and appear ill, weighing the nappy is a good plan. Is his tummy or the rest of his body noticeably swollen?

Peanut917 · 25/02/2014 08:12

I would expect him to be in pain the amount he has drank but he is only restless at times. Their isn't any swelling. If he had a wee in the bath then that would of been sat pm. Nappy this am was dry again I weighed a fresh nappy and the one I removed and the same weight.

I would go back to a&e. Ignore the gp - go to a&e and explain your concerns. Bear in mind you have been there before but this is now an even longer stretch of time to not pass urine so surely even more worrying now?

Be forceful - I've had to have a row with a paediatrician before to get my ds treated but I was proved right. I frequently have to stamp my feet to get my ds sorted as he has a rare disease not many doctors are familiar with. You're the mother and no one knows their child better than you

beautifulgirls · 25/02/2014 09:17

With Pudsey here, bypass the GP and go to A&E because if the GP is concerned then will only refer you there anyway. It is time for answers and not being sent away again now. The GP should be concerned now!

candycoatedwaterdrops · 25/02/2014 10:09

Yep, I'll just go to A&E. Better safe than sorry.

Peanut917 · 25/02/2014 11:21

I managed to see a doc first thing. He thinks he is constipated and that is stopping him from going so we have movicol. He's had a sachet and now asleep.

OP posts:
pudseypie · 25/02/2014 11:43

Was that at hospital? I don't see how being constipated causes you to stop weeing? My ds aged 2 has hirschsprungs disease which means he is chronically constipated but it has never stopped him weeing.
When did he last do a poo?
