I'm going out of my mind. Dh has just taken her in. She has been burning up all day and complaining of tummy ache in her arms and legs. Then she was sick and developed blotches all over her face. I noticed then that her feet were ice cold so DH took her straight to A and E.

She's only three. Please tell me she will be ok.

Sending good vibes. We had a scare with DS a year ago and it was really frightening. You did the right thing. Hope she is ok.

timesarehard · 14/12/2013 23:29

Sorry for disappearing. A friend came over so I could take a bag up for them. The doctor is confident it's not meningitis (thank God) but still haven't got to the root cause. They think probably a nasty infection somewhere. She's having some bloods done and some fluids.

She looks so poorly and it broke my heart to leave her but I'm needed more here with the baby tonight.

Thank you all so, so much for all your kind words and support. I'll keep you updated.

RubyGoat · 15/12/2013 07:23

Glad it's not meningitis. Hope they figure out the problem soon & get her better.

tinypumpkin · 15/12/2013 08:58

Really glad it is not meningitis. Hope your DD improves asap.

Goldmandra · 15/12/2013 09:17

Have you asked if you can stay in with her and the baby? I was surprised to find I could when DD1 was very poorly with appendicitis aged six and DD2 was four months and EBF. We were all three in together for two weeks and they were really lovely about me BFing, gave me all my meals and a proper bed.

It's probably worth asking.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/12/2013 09:23

Appendicitis isnt contagious though is it? You probably wouldn't want baby in with an undiagnosed virus.

Op - how is everyone today?

Goldmandra · 15/12/2013 09:48

Appendicitis isnt contagious though is it? You probably wouldn't want baby in with an undiagnosed virus.

DD1 was in a single room because they didn't believe it was appendicitis for the first week. We just stayed in there with her because I figured that DD2 would have caught anything she had already anyway.

Morning all. She came home.this morning. She has got antibiotics. She is much better than she was but still very poorly. We have to call back in a couple of days for the results.

What a night! Thanks again for all your support. I hope she makes a swift recovery. We were supposed to be having a Christmas party here today for our closest friends. Obviously, we have cancelled it. Such a shame.

That's great she's getting better. My ds is recovering from an awful virus too. So much about

JugglingUnwiselyWithBaubles · 15/12/2013 11:20

Yay! She's home and on the mend.

Sorry she's still feeling quite poorly and hope she'll be better really soon.

There'll be other parties - hope she'll be well for Christmas x

Wishfulmakeupping · 15/12/2013 11:23

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/12/2013 11:27

Brilliant news op. Glad she's home and on the mend x

monicalewinski · 15/12/2013 11:30

Glad she's ok - they get so ill so quickly when they're small, it's so scary.

I'm sure she'll be sending you crazy by Christmas, fully recovered xx

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 15/12/2013 11:35

What a horrible night for you all :( It is beyond scary isn't it and it's things like this that remind you just how precious they are and how small.

My niece had something like this about 3 years ago - it turned out to be an infection that had settled in her knee - it was most odd and she had to go back for quite a few check ups, but after a few days of AB's she was back to herself again. I hope your DD picks up quickly too.

So what 'beautiful' thing will she be getting for Christmas? The Moon on a stick maybe ?? Wink

timesarehard · 15/12/2013 11:50

Yes chipping, the girl can have whatever she likes!

She's not eaten a thing in two days so I just asked her if she could eat anything in the world.what would it be? Her answer? Mickey Mouse ice lollies! Bless her.

MissBetseyTrotwood · 15/12/2013 15:40

I'm so pleased - what a relief! Glad they did tests too; if they need to target the antibiotics more then they can.

No Xmas party now but just think how lovely the rest of the season will be. Smile

EnlightenedOwl · 15/12/2013 17:46

so relieved for you x

Pull · 15/12/2013 17:55

So glad she's ok Smile

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 15/12/2013 18:09

So have you sent Daddy out to get some? Xmas Grin

I'd put a small bowl of bits out for her - a few crisps, a little chocolate, a few bits of banana & apple, cheese... whatever her favourite nibble bits are and hope she keeps picking at them, but as long as she's drinking she'll be fine without much food until she wants it.

womma · 15/12/2013 18:36

Phewee! So glad she's h
