Joseph's ongoing journey with Neuroblastoma

I've lost count of the thread number now, but my 3 year old DS, Joseph, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer called neuroblastoma last year.

Part-way through treatment he has relapsed (currently still clarifying that, but it's almost guaranteed) and at that point long-term survival is less than 5%.

He is beautiful and wonderful.

Lovely to see that things are moving forward for Joe Smile

Trazzletoes · 25/05/2013 20:36

Things are moving forwards... He took a couple of tentative steps today while not holding on to anything!

Delurking to say what wonderful news. Have been following your story since the start and you are often in my thoughts. Brilliant fantastic news. You are so brave. Hope you all have a fantastic Bank Holiday.

ShiftyFades · 26/05/2013 09:07

Fantastic news, I've shed a few tears this morning.
It's taken me a while to catch up after missing a month whilst my dad was in hospital. Last night I was crying about the dreadful news you'd had... And this morning I'm crying at a miracle and all the renewed hope. Joe and you are amazing Grin

Despite not being able to catch up with the threads, I have thought and prayed for Joe every single day. You are never far from my thoughts.

Anyway it's nice to be back, fully updated and reading the best news Grin

Trazzletoes · 26/05/2013 09:12

Oh massive hug shifty yes, a lot has happened in the last month! It's, er, been something of a roller coaster Grin

Morning trazzle! Did you get to see the octonauts yesterday?

GlaikitFizzog · 26/05/2013 09:17

Sorry it's today! Doh, must retain information better!

Trazzletoes · 26/05/2013 09:23

Haha actually would be tomorrow but I'm not sure whether we will go - DH doesn't seem keen (there are perfectly valid reasons for this not related to Captain Barnacles). We shall see.

Had a lovely day in the sunshine with family yesterday and staying in and doing housey/ garden type jobs today.

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 26/05/2013 09:28

Good to hear! I too should be doing housey/ garden things, but I'm not feeling it today! I'll have and other Brew see if that kick starts me!

Trazzletoes · 26/05/2013 09:37

I'm still in bed listening to DD screaming because DH won't let her climb the stairs. I ought to get up, but then...

ShiftyFades · 26/05/2013 10:24

He's ok now, thank you Grin
It's lovely out there, a great weekend for laundry, gardening and playing in the sun with our little ones.

I think DD is your alarm clock Wink

GlaikitFizzog · 26/05/2013 10:44

It's cold here, but ds wants to play outside. I have delegated that to dh! While I get on inside!

toffeelolly · 26/05/2013 11:46

youarewinning · 26/05/2013 19:59

I'm O-. DS is A- but it's a whole 10 years until he can donate!

Glad your DD is better - Joe sounds an aboslute delight and so mature reassuring his sister.

VenetiaLanyon · 27/05/2013 07:49

Glad to hear you sounding so much perkier Smile. Any wishes will probably be easier for you to deal on a practical level once the treatment is over too, as you'd hopefully be in a less stressful place. Have a lovely bank holiday.

NorksAreMessy · 28/05/2013 20:05

Just a little holiday splodge from soggy Devon

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 28/05/2013 21:17

And I'm sending a wringing wet holiday splodge from Warrington. Tis the premier holiday destination of choice Wink if you forgot to book going to Devon
