Joseph's ongoing journey with Neuroblastoma

Trazzletoes · 13/05/2013 22:24

I've lost count of the thread number now, but my 3 year old DS, Joseph, was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer called neuroblastoma last year.

Part-way through treatment he has relapsed (currently still clarifying that, but it's almost guaranteed) and at that point long-term survival is less than 5%.

He is beautiful and wonderful.

Bluebell99 · 17/05/2013 20:58

Great news Smile

elfycat · 17/05/2013 20:59

Hope that this is the first of many parts of good news coming your way.

I gave blood a couple of weeks ago, spurred on by thoughts of Joe and how little effort/pinpricks it would cost me compared to what your little man has been going through.

I think it may have taken about 5 mins to give my pint the nurse was quite surprised at the speed If anyone is umming and ahhing over the idea I'd suggest giving it a try and then laughing at yourself about an hour later. I'd also suggest not letting your 2yo remove the plaster the next day - that was MORE painful!

StealthOfficialCrispTester · 17/05/2013 21:02

Completely agree. The fingertip pinprick is the painful bit.
(if they still do that...it's been a while Blush)
Woman at work gave me a no to call about getting the blood bus on campus. Will follow up on Monday

IHeartKingThistle · 17/05/2013 21:03

I clicked on the thread and almost couldn't look. I just laughed and sobbed at the same time!

Great news Smile

StealthOfficialCrispTester · 17/05/2013 21:04

Hope Trazzle is drinking wine and relaxing. I feel like a weight's off my mind - can't imagine what this must feel like for them!
Also I hope she had a witness to the phone call - am I the only onw who would be thinking "did he really call or did I dream it? Did I misinterpret what he said"?
(BTW whenever I've thought that I was always right first time, and the second guessing was wrong :o)

Jbck · 17/05/2013 21:07

Fabulous news, I read all your news of Joe and never really know what to post as most people say it more eloquently or have helpful information but I couldn't not say how lovely this is to hear.
Enjoy the beer n pizza, it's a great night in the Trazzle house.

NorksAreMessy · 17/05/2013 21:09

I am genuinely in tears here. Completely and utterly overjoyed and delighted and utterly amazed.

Also completely convinced that the nest of vipers have somehow caused this by waves of love and positive thoughts being wafted your way (no scientific basis for this assertion, at all. Ben Goldacre might just strike me off his mailing list)

Whatever mysterious process has caused this miracle, long may it continue so to do

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o

NorksAreMessy · 17/05/2013 21:11

elfy I am soooo impressed with your blood letting, You weren't keen, but you DID IT.
Thank you for joining in the nagging gentle persuasion.

This thread makes me feel very humble and grateful.

It's just bloody marvellous and I hope (and bet!) that your pizza is the sweetest thing you've ever tasted. I toasted you all when I opened my posh cider earlier - hope this all goes from strength to strength. X

Isitjustmethen · 17/05/2013 21:31

This has made my day. There aren't words to express how happy I am for you all. I know there is still a long way to go, but I am overjoyed that the news today was as good as you could have asked for.
