When did you first take your newborn out?

My DS is 8 weeks old and so far I have avoided taking him out as he has not yet been immunised(due next week) due to the vast numbers of virus/flu etc about. Want to take DD to her dance class today & not sue if I should take DS with us or leave him with my parents. I'm worried he'll pick something up and won't be able to have his jabs next week.

How old was your newborn when you first started taking them out and about? Xx

I took my dd out the after she was born, took her shopping for clothes

2 or 3 days old with my first born , & family (about 15 of us) meal out at 5 days
2 days with 2nd born to visit my nan, & a trip to the park at 3 days

15 hrs. He was born at 10 pm at home and I was in Asda with him at noon the next day. One of the Asda ladies asked how old he was and was a bit surprised I was out so soon. He was my 4th and I knew that by day 2/3i just wouldn't have the energy.

8 weeks???

I came out of intensive care and would have loved to have stayed home but was doing pre school run!

How have you been getting your older daughter to school and ballet? And what about food shopping? Or seeing friends?

I was given advice to go out everyday. Even if just a walk around the block! Baby would be fine in a pushchair -not exactly close contact with anyone in just going for a walk.

I wish you well. Do ask hv etc for help (have you tried home start? They're fab. I found it very tough getting out and about but was lucky in a way to have things k needed to be out for.
