Hi, continuity thread for my little DS (3) who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma last week. Much gratitude for all the support the Trazzles have received. You nasty nest of vipers, you Grin

PS I'm fine thanks and mightily impressed that I have much in common with young Joseph, I too am a big fan of firemen

Trazzletoes · 25/11/2012 16:31

Grin I don't know who was more excited at the fire station, him or me!!!

DD has diarrhoea so can't come to hospital tomorrow so I won't see her til Tuesday night if I'm lucky Sad Sad.

DH got his usual lie-in on Saturday morning but then another one today - I had to get up with DCs as my friend was staying downstairs... I was also up 4 times in the night with Joe, much as I have been most nights this week.

Texted DH (who is currently at the hospital) to ask how it's going and he had the bastard cheek to tell me he's tired. I swear if he'd been in the room if have had to sit on my hands.

If I can just make it through to Monday evening I should get a night's sleep.

Please God don't let me fall apart before then...

ToffeeWhirl · 25/11/2012 17:01

Hmm, you should have had one of those lie ins, Trazzle. You need it. Are you sleeping (or not sleeping) at the hospital with DS tonight?

Sorry your DD is ill. It must be awful to be apart from her for so long.

I hope chemo number 6 goes well and that Josephs cough gets better soon.

ToffeeWhirl · 25/11/2012 17:02

Joseph's

Trazzletoes · 25/11/2012 18:27

Toffee I KNOW!!!! Unimpressed...

Yes, I'm "sleeping" at the hospital tonight...

TeaMakesItToTheTop · 25/11/2012 19:13

Sad for the sleep deprived Trazzle and poorly DD.

If I lived closer I'd drop you in some Irn-Bru to get you through the next 26 hours. I swear it's rocket fuel and should only be touched in an hangover emergency.

ToffeeWhirl · 25/11/2012 19:39

I'm unimpressed on your behalf too, Trazzles. Sounds like a little talk is needed...

fraktion · 25/11/2012 20:31

What toffee said.

halfthesize · 25/11/2012 20:47

Eve trazzle just came across your thread, I am so sorry to hear what your DS is going through, but pleased to hear that the latest set of results sound positiveSmile

Big hugs for both you and little trazzle x x x

NorksAreTinselly · 25/11/2012 20:50

Evening trazzletoesfamily

Oi, mrtrazzle what are you playing at?
Next available opportunity, trazzletoes gets to go to bed at 7.30pm, is given DINNER IN BED with wine and is allowed to sleep as long as she likes.

Thinking of you all every single day
Love and lint Dom a very soggy Malvern

NorksAreTinselly · 25/11/2012 20:52

Well, you can have some lint if you want it. The tumble drier is an endless source.
In fact I did wonder if it was possible to turn tumble dryer lint into little felty animals.

HOWEVER, I was trying to send LIGHT not lint Blush

Trazzletoes · 25/11/2012 21:02

norks it's appreciated but I'm still waiting for the champagne breakfast in bed I was promised to celebrate Joseph being 6 weeks old (and therefore old enough to take the odd bottle, allowing me to have said champagne...)

DH is generally amazing so ill let him off this one.

Just realised that I left both my crochet AND the DVD I was going to watch tonight back in the car. and

OP posts:
Sirzy · 25/11/2012 21:06

If he is asleep can you not nip to the car to get them?

Hope you manage to get some sleep, although I don't think a good nights sleep is possible on the parent put you up beds hospitals have!

NorksAreTinselly · 25/11/2012 21:09

Did you hear about me and the crochet?
Was impressed that you were managing the witchcraft and lovely flamingo (genuine witch) said 'come down, I will teach you'
Whilst sitting next to her on the sofa, I was BRILLIANT at it.
Got home and can't do it.
The mad thing is I can do it IN MY HEAD and often rehearse it when walking the dogs (my life is pure rock and roll!) but my hands are disobedient.

When I finish making Pinot's felt kitten I PROMISE I will try again

Trazzletoes · 25/11/2012 21:22

Sirzy yes I could but said car is now back at home with DH.

Shouldn't really complain of boredom... I still need to fill in the DLA application...

OP posts:
KnottyLocks · 25/11/2012 21:39

Boredom? Ok, what can we do to help? Smile

Pinterest, Ravelry: both crafty sites to have a nose about on.

KnottyLocks · 25/11/2012 21:40

Norks will be a fully fledged witch soon. Oh yes [determined]

Trazzletoes · 25/11/2012 21:43

I absolutely do not in any way understand Pinterest. It just makes me look at a lady with very odd fashion sense.

OP posts:
thewhistler · 25/11/2012 21:44

Trazzle, thinking of you on those awful beds. Hope you get some sleep.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 25/11/2012 21:58

I don't get Pinterest either - wish I did, it looks like there's some amazing things on there!

When will you be able to get your DVD and crocheting back? Will DH be able to drop it in in the morning?

I really hope that the ward is quiet a tonight and that you and Joseph both get some good rest.

Still thinking of you all here in rainy South Wales.

Xx

onedev · 25/11/2012 22:57

Hope you're able to get some sleep.

toomuch2young · 25/11/2012 23:18

Hopefully a good night sleep for all at the frazzled Trazzle house.
Hope the cough settles soon, do ususal cough meds give any relief at all?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 26/11/2012 08:59

Hope you got a decent night's sleep Trazzle. Re Pinterest, I didn't get it for a long time either, you need to latch onto someone else and follow them and start repinning some of their stuff, then follow a few of the people they are following and before you know it you are hooked. There is some fabulous crochet stuff on there, both to try and just to gaze at in wonderment. If you want to give it another try my name on there is Who CanTell, you're welcome to follow me (main interests are crochet, nail varnish and Christmas so far).

dikkertjedap · 26/11/2012 19:36

I hope you are feeling a bit better today and that Joe's chemo is going according to plan.

It is not surprising that you are feeling run down - try to be kind to yourself.

It is hard that Joe hits you and is not responding to discipline.

It could be ordinary three year old behaviour testing boundaries, but it could equally be his way of dealing with his life being turned upside down.

It is hard to be consistent with him in such a situation plus young kids will also pick up on your body language. If you say one thing, but your body is giving a different message (probably totally inadvertently) he will be picking up on that.

Nursery teachers often try to use a firm voice to get kids to do something, but if their body language is not in line with that, it won't work (or at least not with all of the kids).
