Thanks for the update supermama , so glad all is fine Smile

Mum1369 · 03/12/2011 17:45

Oh glad things turned out fine xx

Bunbaker · 03/12/2011 17:48

I'm glad she is well again. I'm a bit Shock that you weren't allowed to stay with her though. At our local children's hospital (Sheffield) the nurses prefer it if parents stay because it makes their job easier.

supermama212 · 04/12/2011 06:47

bun i thought that if i stayed it would make it easier. in the end i said " it is my child and i want to stay here. the doh website says until the age of 18 it is my opinion" i stayed :o

She was so unwell - its hard to see your child like that

supermama212 · 06/12/2011 16:34

thank u elf! DD is fine - going to have stitches out tomorrow. and review of antibiotics and school return day

OP posts:
ElfOnTheShelf · 06/12/2011 17:31

I had dissolvable stitches but a couple of them buried down into my skin and i got an infection so it's just as well your DD had normal ones. She probably won't go back to school now before the Christmas break will she? There is so many colds around it may be as well if she stays away as she is recovering from an op.

I hope you both have a great Christmas and a muich healthier New year Smile

supermama212 · 06/12/2011 17:36

i dont know - she is maybe going back on monday but it depends on DRs opinion - i want her back at school as she has missed over 3 weeks - she was off with a broken toe just before she had to go into hospital.
would it be a good idea to keep her off until after xmas hols? a week may not be worth it. and yes a healthier new year is what i want - its top of my xmas wish list x

OP posts:
ElfOnTheShelf · 06/12/2011 17:40

I doubt they will be doing any proper work at school in the last week. I guess it depends, do you have snow? See what the Dr suggests and take your lead from him. Maybe she could go in the last couple of days just to give out her xmas cards if nothing else Smile

supermama212 · 06/12/2011 17:47

i know but she wants to - if he says she can/ or its her choice shall i let her?

OP posts:
ElfOnTheShelf · 06/12/2011 21:05

Sorry mama took DD to her choir engagement this evening and only just seen yr post.

Yes, if Dr says it's fine and she wants to then it will be fine. You may get some good resting done if you have the house to yourself too Smile

supermama212 · 07/12/2011 15:27

he says yes! she is starting tomorrow but no PE until after holidays, she is glad to be going back. i am glad to see the back of her! i have enjoyed having 1 to 1 time with DD but its time she went

OP posts:
ElfOnTheShelf · 07/12/2011 19:03

Glad you got the green light from the Dr. You need to indulge yourself now and really recoup while DD is at school. Take it easy x

supermama212 · 08/12/2011 17:00

i will recoup as much as i can - got all xmas stuff to do!!!!!!

OP posts:
ElfOnTheShelf · 09/12/2011 17:04

Write a list and put all the 'must do' stuff at the top and the 'it can wait a bit' stuff under and just do what needs doing essentially first and take it from there. To be fair as your DD is a teenager she may want to wait for her big present after the sales start to get more for her money (if you buy her clothes that is) so present buying may not be essential. Your DD can decorate the house (she will probably really love doing it) while you lie and watch her Xmas Grin so definitely take it easy.
