Her new shoes rubbed on the back of her foot which made it sore but now it looks like this:

Not sure why that didn't work but I will try a different code:

hmm it's kind of hard to see. it looks like it is just blistered and then scabbed over to me.
but if you are worried then take her to the GP

Looks like a sore blister. Maybe a mild infection. I'd pop to the pharmacy.

ladybirdladybirdflyawayhome · 10/09/2010 14:04

Thanks tiyd - I'm only concerned because the erea around the blister has swollen & gone very red, it didn't look like that yesterday?

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 10/09/2010 14:06

I'd take her to the GP tbh incase she needs antibiotics, rather go and get told it's not neccessary that her be in pain for longer while I try various things tbh.

Wow you are all very quick with your replys & thanks to the clever ladies for supplying my link Smile

I will pop into the chemist on the school run, don't know whats wrong with me today, it didn't even occur to me to do that Blush

If it's swollen and red that normally suggests infection, I would get it looked at to be on the safe side. Hope she's ok.

ShowOfHands · 10/09/2010 14:12

Do you have a walk in place locally?

Flighttattendant · 10/09/2010 14:16

Looks like cellulitis.

If you get it seen to quickly it will be fine, leave it overnight and you could have it tracking (like red lines running up towards her ankle, this means spreading through the bloodstream) and she might start to get poorly.

It's very common from foot blisters for some reason.

You need to get it seen to today, good luck.

ladybirdladybirdflyawayhome · 10/09/2010 14:16

No soh we don't have anything like that around here but I am going to take her to the pharmasist now & it is next to our surgery so I am hoping he will have a look & then if she needs to see a doctor I can go next door.

It look ok yesterday but she has been unwell yesterday & today with a high temp, cough & cold so I am thinking that might be down to a little infection.

Thank you all so much for so many replies x

Bless her, that looks sore!
I'd get it looked at.

Flighttattendant · 10/09/2010 16:03

Oh crikey if she's already ill it's definitely time for antibiotics - I'd actually go to A&E if I couldn't get an urgent drs appt. She might need to stay in and have intravenous antibiotics if she is systemically unwell.

Hope not though.
Let us know how you get on x

ladybirdladybirdflyawayhome · 10/09/2010 16:08

Just to let you all know.

I took Evie to the doctor & it is infected, she has been given an antibiotic cream.

Thanks again for all your help Smile

OP posts:
Flighttattendant · 10/09/2010 16:28

Oh that's good. But please, please keep an eye on her tonight, I mean checking her during the night as well, if there is any sign of it spreading (draw a biro line round the current area of redness) then get her to A&E immediately.

Did the doctor realise she had a temperature? I'm actually really surprised he didn't give her something oral to take.

Oh ok, There wasn't a doctor at the surgery to see but the nurse did see us. She said it should be fine & to use the cream 4 times a day & then go back on Monday.
Since yesterday Evie has had a temperature, chesty cough & a very runny nose.
I will let her sleep with me again like I did last night & see how she goes over the weekend.

Thanks again

I am glad she was seen by our nurse but I am now going to worry about her all weekend.
I did draw around it but poor little thing really cried & hasn't really stopped since Sad

She does have a cold, you can hear it on her chest, that's why we saw the doctor yesterday because she has VSD so I need to keep a closer eye on her.

Thanks again, this is my first "help me" post on mn & I must say I am very impressed Grin
