I love Mog soooo much - I only discovered it with dd and it's wonderful. Delightful illustrations (which have now acquired a retro cachet!) and wonderfully simple text. I also love that even the burglar gets a cup of tea!

Haven't been able to bring myself to read Goodbye Mog though - have been seriously unsettled since I heard of its existence.

ButterflyMcQueen · 13/06/2008 17:44

yes when mog forgets what she is doing in the middle of washing her leg!

pointydog · 13/06/2008 17:46

I think Mog is menopausal

PerkinWarbeck · 13/06/2008 17:48

ooh, yes, be careful with Goodbye Mog.

I found myself weeping at the library after that one

Mog and the Baby is my fave.

stealthsquiggle · 13/06/2008 17:50

Mog's Christmas is a favourite round here.

Have resisted Goodbye Mog

Mog croaks

stealthsquiggle · 13/06/2008 17:53

delicately put there, pointydog

BandofMothers · 13/06/2008 17:55

ACK........an't kids just learn when Grandma goes??? How traumatic to kill off a beloved literary character....not that Grandma wouldn't be traumatic too.

EustaciaVye · 13/06/2008 17:56

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I didnt know there was a Goodbye Mog

I love MtFC and also Mog and the baby - Mrs Cluterbuck must be mad to leave baby there

BandofMothers · 13/06/2008 17:57

BandofMothers · 13/06/2008 17:57

I think Mog did a whoopsie in Dad's chair.

fryalot · 13/06/2008 19:09

Mog is a great read.

As is Meg and Mog.

cmotdibbler · 13/06/2008 19:44

Oh yes - when Goodbye Mog came out, I was with my mum in a bookshop and we both cried. Beautifully done though.

Afraid theres no doubt about it though Squonk

Chocolateteapot · 13/06/2008 19:45

DD is 9.5 now and I still can't bring myself to tell her Mog dies, I can't bear the idea of coping with the fallout !

Habbibu · 13/06/2008 19:47

Was just reading Mog and the Baby today - can you imagine the MN thread - "Am I being Unreasonable - left ds with friend to go shopping. She left her cat in charge, ds almost gets run over and friend insists I buy the cat a "prize". WTF?"

I love mog!

I like the fact that I can read it to dd aged 3 and ds aged 7 and they both enjoy it-and I don't find it a chore to read out.

I'm in the process of stocking up on mog books as they get well read and I love the drawings-the picture of mog pausing halfway through washing her leg with her tongue peeking out reminds me of my beloved old cat!
