Mog and the Veeeeeeee Eeeeeeee Teeeeeee
was fab too

Takver · 13/06/2008 20:33

Mog is so fab - we also have a tape of several of the mog books with great sound effects (especially Mog and the Vee Eee Tee) which is good for the car as I can listen to it endless times without feeling suicidal.
And . .. dd's best friend has a cat which is the absolute spitting image of Mog and is the cutest cat on the planet IMO (well, apart from her bad habit of sneaking into our house and drinking milk out of the jug on the counter).

peachygirl · 13/06/2008 20:37

The new book she wrote after Goodbye Mog called 'Twinkles, Arthur and Puss' is also lovely.

Hulababy · 13/06/2008 20:38

We have Mog on audio CD, inc our fave Mog and the baby. Not read Goodbye Mog yet - not sure I could!

tigermeow · 13/06/2008 21:34

We love Mog in our house, we even named one of cats after Mog! They did look similar!

When our Mog died, 'Goodbye Mog' was a brilliant book to have to hand. DD now thinks our Mog is flying around in the sky playing with his yellow balloon...she released a balloon for our Mog after reading 'Goodbye Mog'...quite a sweet thought when you are only 2!

We have the whole Mog set of books. Judith Kerr also wrote a great set of books about her life as a child (When Hitler stole Pink Rabbit).

We named our cat after Mog.
Sadly she's turned out to be a psychohellcat who hates me.

Our Mog stunned me the other day by forgetting that she had a cat flap. That made me laugh, watching her sit miaowing pitifully on the window sill - USE THE PLASTIC DOOR EEJIT.

Poledra · 16/06/2008 12:05

Mog is so coooool! DH and I both love her and fortunately, so do the dds. Haven't braved 'Goodbye Mog' yet, though might have to do so soon (dd1 getting quite interested in death so it might be helpful). 'Mog on Fox Night' is my personal favourite

Enid · 18/06/2008 13:39

I made my dh read Goodbye Mog in the library

he went all gruff

Oliveoil · 18/06/2008 13:42

we have Mog the forgetful cat

it annoys me at bedtimes as it sooooo long so I miss bits out

dd1 wants to know why they make the burglar a cup of tea

I do not have an answer for that!

MsDemeanor · 18/06/2008 13:45

I love Mog and the Baby - there's some truly, um, relaxed parenting in it. These days Mrs Clutterbuck would be suing Mrs Thomas, not buying a fish the cat!

sfxmum · 18/06/2008 13:47

we like Mog in this house but can't bring myself to read the goodbye one
dd has 3 so far

Enid · 18/06/2008 13:48

dd3 is obsessed with Mog and the V E T

she calls it Mog and the T V E

she knows it off by heart

also she sings the song from Mog and the Granny

"we are going to america where the skyscrapers are.."

MsDemeanor · 18/06/2008 13:51

Er, i did mean not buying the cat a fish instead of vice versa (Mog's a bit surreal, especially Mog's ABC, but not that mad)

Sexonlegs · 18/06/2008 13:54

Loved Mog books as a child many moons ago. We had Mog's bad thing from the library. Really funny.

Just the thought of Goodbye Mog has me welling up.

I used to read a book called Abandoned when I was a chid. It was utterly devastating and I used to cry every time. My mum couldn't understand why I kept getting the ruddy book out from the library!!
