dd1 (8) has to read to me every night for 10 minutes. She really hates reading out loud, in fact doesnt enjoy reading much at all. She has just read
Ottoline and the Yellow Cat

I feel like emailing Chris Riddell and telling him I love him, she loved it.

I need to find some more books for her. She is frightened off by too much text (although her reading is really improving - there were some hard words in Ottoline which she had a good stab at). We are doing Swap! next. Can anyone recommend any exciting books?

Araminta Spook books by Angie Sage

Saint Jenni series by Meg Harper

Vlad the Drac by Ann Jungman.

I think there's a series of books about Henrietta which are similar to the Ottoline stories.
