Books for 9 yr old dd.. she thinks books her age are babyish !

Need some advice .. our 9 yr old dd is complaining that a lot of her books are just not interesting her anyone but I'm
Completely stuck about what books to get.
She usually reads
Diary of a wimpy kid,
Harry Potter
Fairy books,
David Walliams books etc

Just lately she says these are a bit babyish and wants books that are more real life but I feel she's too young for teenage books .. she is quite grown up for her age so any recommendations would be appreciated 😊

Has she tried Anne of Green Gables? Philip Pullman?

Ursula le Guin's Earthsea trilogy.
Pre-Potter wizardry, more grown-up, beautifully written, Pullmanesque depths.

Assuming real life still means fiction, how about the Murder Most Unladylike series. Recommended age 9-12.

But definitely not 'real life'. I really must work on my comprehension skills.

Laura Ingalls Wilder books?

Katherine Rundell's books are good.The Explorers snd Rooftoppers.

Maybe Jacqueline Wilson? She does different series for different ages.

Lemony snicket?

Louis Sachar - the series set in a school (forgotten the name of it) and then Holes, The Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom, etc etc. Brilliant books.

So my daughter is the same. She likes murder in midwinter ( not about a murder) and the onjali Rauf books are amazing

Percy Jackson series or murder most ladylike series

The girl that rowed the ocean & The boy that biked the world

My DD is now 12 but from around 9 to even now she loves anything by Rick Riodan who does the Percy Jackson series. Not real life but a suggestion none the less

Both my girls really got into Percy Jackson at that age and as teens still love Greek mythogy because of it.Sort of real life...in as much as Harry Potter is

My dd absolutely adores the Lottie Brooks series by Katie Kirby. They're contemporary and funny!

How about similar age range but a different genre, things like the Goosebumps series

My daughter, who is 10 and a book worm, has enjoyed all these over the last year or so:

Take her to a bookshop... Waterstones fir example divides the books into 5-8, 9-12 and then teenage. See what takes her fancy!

My 11yo tends to pick wildlife stories and school stories. Shes currentlyreading Harry Potter screenplays. My 10yo goes for mysteries and adventures. Recent favourite has been the Ministry of Unladylike Activity.

I think it was about this age my dd got into My Story and My Royal Story series... historical based.

My DS9 is into horrible histories/ geographies. Chronicals of Narnia, Lemony Snickett.

Christmasaurus, witches of once, both series and Alesha Dixon did a series too...
All on my dds bookcase till recently.
