What is your favourite children's book when you were a child,,?

What is the best children's book of all time? Any reason why?

All Roald Dahl but mostly The Twits and a lesser known one called Esio Trot.

Linnets and Valerians, closely followed by the Little White Horse. Both by Elizabeth Goudge. Absolutely magical. I have read them many times and will do so again. Then once I hit the teenage years it was Lord of the Rings. That I have only read once - I would love to read it again but I'm also petrified that a second reading as an adult would sort of dilute the incredible intensity of that first experience reading it as a teen, and I don't want to risk that so maybe it has to be a once in a lifetime experience
