Hello trying to build a list of books for my nearly 7 year old to read independently based on stories I remember that I genuinely enjoyed reading as a child. So far I have the worst witch series and gobilino the witches cat. Anyone have any further suggestions?

The Tree That Sat Down. It was one of a trilogy. Have no memory of who wrote it, but I'm 50 and parts of the story turn up in my dreams (day and night versions) even now.

I bloody LOVED that book.
