Does this sound like a nice list for a 9yo?

Dd's has only just got into reading independently and for pleasure via the Enid Blytin Brer Rabbit stories. She like them because they make hard laugh, involve animals and are short enough for her to read at one sitting. She has now asked for a library for her birthday. Smile I have been looking at threads on here and these seem likely to please.

Mrs Pepperpot
Ottoline and the Yellow Cat Chris Riddell
Clever Polly and the stupid wolf stories
The World's Worst Children - Walliams

What do you think. Any suggestions to add very welcome. We are not in an English speaking country so I can't just take her to the local library to see what she likes.

Many thanks.

What about Judy Blume's Ramona series? I really loved those as a child

Ramona is written by Beverly Cleary, fab books, really recommend.

Some of the younger Judy Blume would be good too - the Fudge books and Otherwise known as Sheila the Great.

Holly Webb big hit here. Her animal ones are nice, not depressing.
