Hi there, this has probably been done before but I want to build a nice collection of books for my toddler. What would you recommend?
TIA

Would like to nominate The Storm Whale and Grandpa's Island by Benji Davies.

They're very cleverly written so DH and I are just in bits reading them, with the serious stuff just completely flying over DS's head. He also loves them.

The book people have a set of 10 books for £10 that includes snappy birthday and there's a lion in my cornflakes

It's their "all creatures great and small" collection here

They also have a set of three Hugless Douglas books for £4.99 here

Ah I love Grandpa's Island. My son chose it because of the lovely illustrations - we didn't realise until we read it that it had a bit of a message!

Marcello Mouse hasn't been mentioned - huge favourite with my boy. Also the Alfie books, the Usbourne Farmyard tales and the John Burningham ones - I love Mr Gumpy's Outing. Also Fix-It Duck is brilliant.

I've been reading my lo 'Before you sleep' by Benji Bennett since my lo was 15 mts and we still read it now (nearly 3). It won Irish book of the year a few years ago. it is a great book for toddlers, it has a rhyming story with wonderful illustrations. Great for toddlers to point things out in the pages.

Highly recommend to check it out.
