Books for a 12 yr old boy

Hi
Can anyone suggest any books for a 12 year old boy? He has enjoyed the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore, The Bear Grylls mission survive series, the Tom Gates books, the How to Train Your Dragon series. He is a good reader, has always loved books but has hit a bit of a wall recently.
Any other ideas gratefully received! Thanks

Marking place so I can pinch some idea. Since DS has started high school and no longer has to fill in his 'reading diary' anymore, he hardly reads anything.

The last set he read was the Charlie Higson Zombie series. I'm struggling to get him interested in anything else.

DD liked the Insignia trilogy (SJ Kincaid)

My 12 yo has just started getting the R L Stine 'Goosebumps' series and seems quite gripped.

I have just upgraded ds1's library card and let him loose in the teenage section (12-16's). Loads of books I hadn't heard of.

The Stoneheart trilogy by Charlie Fletcher, especially if you live in London or he is familiar with it. It's based in London in the present day so everything is recognisable but it's a fantasy too and it makes you look at all the monuments and statues you see completely differently.

Oh, glad someone mentioned The Hunger Games and Alan Garner. There's also The Dark is Rising series (Susan Cooper IIRC) DS used to read them around Christmas time.
And don't forget The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings if he's not already read them.
