Hear ye, hear ye! Gather ye hence, all angels (be-costumed with slightly tacky silver halos and suchlike) with your lark-like notes and prepare to dazzle us all with your charm.

No, not you Joan. Shop bought cake and cheap looks for you, my dear. See Matron for some milk on your way out.

I can not only knock Nazi heads, I can carry a delicate 14 year old or two for part of the journey. I am a multi talented naughty sheep.

Lurknomoreladies · 05/12/2014 22:52

Right you lot, I've just been gone to the props cupboard to get everything ready for the nativity play and when I opened the door a half starved bullock ran out. Come on, own up, which blithering idiot shut a bullock in there?
Anyway, the damage is done my lambs, the thing has eaten through most of the contents of said cupboard, so we'll need to spend Hobbies club tomorrow making new props and scenery.
Of course Joan someone could go and flash their eyes at Gaudez-Juergen and see if they'll knock us up.

Lurknomoreladies · 05/12/2014 22:53

Sorry, that last sentence should have read knock us up some props...

UniS · 05/12/2014 23:10

Thank goodness you came to look for the props lurkno, I'd been stuck there for hours. The bullock fell asleep leaning on me and I couldn't push it over. So I fell asleep too.
Maybe I shouldn't have given it a bucketfull of Mateys special milkmilk. The last dregs did taste quite nice tho. Sort of warming and sleepyifing.
I'm jolly glad the dear little thing is alright again now. Doesn't it look sweet gamboling around the saal. Can bullocks eat raffia ? Or maybe we should give it some of Karen's calfsbratte soupe and salad.

RueDeWakening · 05/12/2014 23:13

I'm loving angles instead of doctors cos they're creepy

Prompted by one of our earlier ramblings conversations, I have been re-watching The Nine Tailors. It includes the line, "Can somebody go down to the Post Office and knock up Miss Baines?". Grin

Lurknomoreladies · 06/12/2014 07:12

I think raffia in preference to the soup, UniS... After all we don't want to encourage cannibalism in the Chalet School! (Also I know for a fact the little bugger thinks anything handicraft related is yummy!)

UniS · 06/12/2014 08:29

OK, raffia it is. I'll let him browse the upper forth place mats.

After frustuck I'll take the little darling for a run along the covered passages.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 06/12/2014 08:43

Hey UniS the Hobbies pree is looking for you - something about charming raffia-work and the furniture of Tom's dolls house? Is that baby bullock not trained to instant obedience yet my lamb? You can tell it's not a continental bullock, can't you? Get Mrs Maynard's advice my lamb.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 06/12/2014 08:50

Snort at knocking up Miss Baines, btw. Grin

hels71 · 06/12/2014 09:19

Emily Alice SLOC and I are also watching the Nine Tailors! We have the last part to watch tonight!!

EmilyAlice · 06/12/2014 10:28

Excellent hels71
We are trying to decide which one to watch next.. The SLOC doesn't like Murder Must Advertise or anything with Harriet Walter so it is tricky.

IrenetheQuaint · 06/12/2014 10:31

I have just rediscovered this thread and find that the School has descended into chaos! I am appalled. Come, girls - it's a beautiful day, a morning of skiing and sledging will get the fidgets out of you! Followed by some warming hot chocolate made with special milk

hels71 · 06/12/2014 10:35

Ah. That is tricky EmilyAlice We like all of them. Nine Tailors is my favourite though. How about The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club? We have just watched that one.

Whatsthewhatsthebody · 06/12/2014 10:47

Hello everyone!

Who gave that half wit who helps out around the school a fag,

It coincided with a lightning bolt and too much cotton wool left over from the sale and Joey went up in a sheet of lime green flame.

Fallingovercliffs · 06/12/2014 11:21

Ooh Miss Annersley has just put a notice on the board.

"Following yesterday's disgraceful rehearsal, which included blasphemy, physical injury and damage to school property the following is to be noted:

  1. I shall be attending Monday's rehearsal and anyone not sticking to the official script will have their part taken away and given to someone else.
  1. Mary' best friend will have one line in the play and that is: 'The son of God shall lighten the darkness'
  1. The dancing star will appear in one scene only ie when leading the three wise men to Bethlehem.
  1. All angels shall appear in one scene only ie when the chorus of angels sing Hark the Herald Angels
  1. The baby Jesus is to remain in the manger, and in the custody of his mother Mary and earthly father Joseph at all times.
  1. Will the girl or girls who locked Len Maynard in the lost property cupboard and told her she was under arrest for tax evasion report to my study immediately."
Sad
EElisavetaofBelsornia · 06/12/2014 11:26

Looks like being late for rehearsal paid off, I'm still in. Is Hark the Herald Angles by Robbie Williams? And what happened to Falling's haunting solo rendition of King Herod and his Cock?

Whatsthewhatsthebody · 06/12/2014 11:29

By the way does anyone else snigger a tad at 'covered passage way' it always sounds faintly rude. Grin

Oh my dear lambs inspector Letton had arrived with his cocked revolver Wink he says our dear Jo is fine and being treated for burns by the TB San doctors, where else, but that it looks like the fire was an attempt to harm our dear Jo.

He wants a list of suspects.

But who would want to kill our so dear Jo. ?

Fallingovercliffs · 06/12/2014 11:32

I wonder is it Thekla or maybe Miss Bubb? I cannot think of anyone else who didn't instantly love dear Jo.

Whatsthewhatsthebody · 06/12/2014 11:34

Falling apparently when miss Annersley put up that note she leaned forward and a box of matches fell out of her pocket.

Those grey/blue eyes that have never yet needed glasses looked shifty and guilty!

Whatsthewhatsthebody · 06/12/2014 11:35

The family of Marie_claire?

Frau Berlin? Or closer to home!

EElisavetaofBelsornia · 06/12/2014 11:45

Hang on - what? Our dear, dear Joey in the San? Quick, we must send the Robin over to sing the Red Sarafan incessantly until she is better.

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 06/12/2014 13:04

and told her she was under arrest for tax evasion...

Grin

I am devastated at these eleventh-hour changes to my script, though.

I can keep just one token remark about being the spirit of the School as well as Mary's best friend, surely?

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 06/12/2014 13:05

Should we all go and sing the Red Sarafan below Jo's window?

EmilyAlice · 06/12/2014 13:15

Dear Miss Annersley,
It is with some dismay that the trustees of the Emily Alice Fonteyn Pavlova foundation have read of your changes to this year's production. We regret to inform you that we will now be withdrawing our offer of the following endowment.

  1. A fully equipped dance studio with facilities for the rehabilitation of girls injured in bizarre and unusual accidents on or around the Gornetz Platz.
  2. The cancellation of the gala performance of the ballet, "Swan Lake in Lime Green", the proceeds of which will not now be donated to the Chalet School.
  3. The withdrawl of our offer of a free box for the Headmistress of the Chalet School and friend at The Royal Opera House.
We remain your obedient servants Etc
