...who has done Ottoline, Mr. Gum, Horrid Henry, "How to train/feed/potty-train your dragon", Roald Dahl, History Spies, Enid Blyton, biographies. Looking for Christmas books. Not Harry Potter or anything to do with beasts, underpants or wimpy kids.

Thanks for all the fab suggestions. She has read the Boy in a Dress too, and also Billionaire Boy by Mr Walliams. Recently finished Hetty Feather by J. Wilson and admitted to crying at the end, bless her. Now on with Kamuzuke?'s Kingdom, someone's kingdom anyway, by Michael Morpugo.

It's been suggested already but can I second the Clarice Bean books by Lauren Child? Full of quirk! DD and I both loved them. DD has reread them again and again even tho' she's now 13! Ideal for a 10 yo.

My dd finds Jeremy Strong books e.g. There's a Viking in my Bed riotously entertaining. She's 8 though so may be a bit young?

I'm not sure who the author is but we love the Molly Moon books.
