you get working tax credit in singapore?

SusieCarmichael · 06/04/2010 23:20

oh, sorry, you are FROM singapore..

nannynick · 07/04/2010 07:06

Try asking your employer. The NHS used to have childcare advisors, not sure they do now, worth asking though.
Overnight care will still be very hard to find I suspect. What about your child's father, can't he care for his own child?

If you have no family here, no friends here... Why have you come here?

Please do try to use full words when posting on here. It is very hard for other people to understand what you write - some people use screenreaders, some use translation software, some are learning English as a second/third language.

I'm posting this from a mobile device. If I can type out every word, I'm sure you can too.

coldtits · 07/04/2010 07:23

You lot are such a pathetic bunch of cunts sometimes.

yes, you can still claim. Speak to the tax credit people on 08453003900

coldtits · 07/04/2010 07:24

"Oh look Babs, she hasn't even got an A level!!!! Haaw haaw haaw!"

Numberfour · 07/04/2010 07:28

what coldtits says.

nannynick · 07/04/2010 07:49

Where will she find the childcare? Childminder numbers have been dropping for years. Childminders who work evenings, or overnights are not common.
Can't claim childcare element of WTC unless using a registered provider.

I clicked on this thread as I had a feeling most of the replys would be like this.

It was like stepping back 20 years into the playground.....

Hayleycm · 07/04/2010 08:16

i live in leicester and have no family here moved to this village 8 months ago, so not many friends, what buisness is it of yours to ask her why she came here???

she asked for advice, if you dont have any, leave her alone.

Claire236 · 07/04/2010 08:17

This thread has amused me no end when I've been feeling totally crap having had next to no sleep tanks to poorly ds2 so thanks ladies.

Not sure the OP needs people stepping in & defending her as her next posts were still horribly written. Use real words not horrible text speak, not hard surely.

nannynick · 07/04/2010 08:31

Well one reason I ask is because I thought that qualified nurses from overseas need to be able to support themselves without claiming from public funds, as part of their visa requirements.
OP has not said if she has a visa, has only recently said she's from abroad, thus she maybe on a visa, may be on some kind of sponsored visa, etc. Thus why she is in the UK I feel is a reasonable question to ask, given that she is looking to access public funds. Or is WTC not considerd public funds?

JackRabbitBauer · 07/04/2010 08:39

nick, I am really shocked at that post, bit mean no? She doesn't have to justify her decisions to anyone and just wants some advice.
I woudl agree with asking the NHS and maybe see if your future coworkers have childminders that might have overnight spaces.

JackRabbitBauer · 07/04/2010 08:39

And what coldtits said as well.

But it's not really any of your business, is it?

hana · 07/04/2010 09:18

do the bullies feel better after their smug posts?

there's just no need for any of it

MuffinToptheMule · 07/04/2010 09:19

AnouskaS. Sorry I can't help you as I don't know about the rules.

Mumsnet is normally a great place but some people can be utter twats. Just ignore people who are taking the piss. You're all acting like school bullies.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/04/2010 09:23

Hear Hear Coldtits. Absolutely bang on.

Look at this for an example of nastiness:

The NHS have employed you? Really? When you can't tell the difference between the letter d and the word 'the'?

BuzzingNoise - you are a twat.

juneybean · 07/04/2010 09:30

LMAO @ thread.

AnoushkaS, I'm not sure what job you've gone for (i.e. the salary) but could you afford a night nanny to do your evening and overnight care?

frakkinnuts · 07/04/2010 09:36

Nicks point is actually very relevant if the ops visastates no recourse to public funds if tax credits are considered public funds, admittedly badly phrased.

Globally, in theory, yes as long as you work 16+ hpurs a week, as does your partner if applicable, then you can claim. There are exceptions, the op may fall into one of those categories in which case we wouldn't want to provide incorrect advice. Sometimes thus means asking relatively invasive questions to complete strangers but they don't have to be answered 'out loud' - they're intended to be taken into consideration.

I'm in the Proper English Please camp but there's really no need to be nasty about it. Although it may be a cultural norm in Singapore (and other cultures) it isn't the cultural norm on mumsnet. Interesting point, anthropologically speaking, but it does mean newcomers may need gently reminding of what is preferred. Gently reminding doesn't mean bullying.

SleepyCaz · 07/04/2010 09:37

Urgh, you nasty cows.

OP, have you tried the DWP website or the TC helpline? Failing that, your local Jobcentre Plus will have people you can speak to for advice on all aspects of chilcare provisions/government benefits.

winstonstimpson · 07/04/2010 12:31

I am honestly quite shocked at the responses to the OP in this thread. Why on earth should the OP have to justify why they are in this country without friends and family. Have we crossed into the Daily Mail letters page or something? Is it really such sport to take the piss out of someone who uses text/shorthand language? It's just pathetic.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 07/04/2010 12:36

What?

Is someone else registering an alternative name to mock the OP now?

Or is the OP name changing in order to write almost complete gibberish?

I don't understand.

ZacharyQuack · 07/04/2010 12:37
