Do you think my cm should/shouldn't give ds timeout when he has been 'naughty' (for want of a better word) at preschool?

Ds has been boisterous (I think he hit another child, and was trying to strangle them too with the other children at preschool today, so after my cm had picked him up, she gave him a timeout when they got home too. This was on top of how the preschool dealt with his behaviour at the time. (They had been playing outside and ds was brought inside to play on his own).

I'm not defending his behaviour in any way, but he is only 2 and a half, and I really don't think he'd understand why he is getting a timeout for behaviour that happened earlier that afternoon.

What do you think?

i think the c/m was wrong - the pre-school dealt with the incident at the time - 2.5yrs is too young to re-dicipline in my view.

only read your OP but no, the cm should not have given you LO time out AFTER the event which the school had ALREADY dealt with..he wont understand and as it didnt happen in her home/with her it had nothing to do with her other than to maybe pass on that it happend and that you may(or may not) have to give the school a call.
