I'm paying 28.50 atm for my daughter to be picked up at 2-5.30. Then £4 for her tea. Going up to 31.50 from April plus £4 for her tea. This is in a private nursery. I have 2 children who go. My son goes from 11.30 to 5.30, both kids twice a week. I'm paying £550 a month for 2 days. Dread the cost of summer when it will be 51.50 a day. Sometimes i wonder is it worth working.

But are they emptying them? I've had many children bringing home full drinks bottles for 20 years from various schools few empty or even do more than take a few mouthfuls ...and are schools expect parents to send that bottle for lunchtime too. The bottles are kept on the sides and children have to ask to get them which they rarely do ...or are only allowed at breaks so two or three times a day they get to either have a decent drink or go play and opt to wet their mouths instead.

Mine keep them on their desks so up to them. Y3. I've never worked in a school that hasn't provided a drink in a cup at lunch if children are having a school dinner.

I'm a childminder in Central England. Many minders charge a session rate from the time they collect from school until the time they close so you have to pay that amount even if you only need care for an hour. I charge £3.50 per hour. This includes a snack and drink but not a meal.
