Nursery fees - what's the average?

My daughter currently goes to a nursery that charges £9.10 per hour. I recently spoke to a friend who was horrified at the price so I just wanted to get some other opinions!
Is this nursery exceptionally pricey?
We are in the south of England.

£45 per day 7.30-6pm, nappies and food included. Need to supply wipes and milk. North West

Plus get the benefit of the tax free childcare so works out £36 per day

Fleabigg · 23/01/2023 15:42

£61 a day including absolutely everything. Open 07:45-6:15. North east, city centre.

Lividity · 23/01/2023 15:44

NW, £49.50, 7am-6pm all food and nappies included.

Seems “cheap” compared to lots of these 🤯

PrimrosesandPears · 23/01/2023 15:50

£95 and my second is about to start so I’ll be paying £180 a day 🤯

Thankfully they do take the funded hours and charge very minimal top ups so that will bring it down once my 2yo qualifies as will both DH and I working compressed hours to do a day of childcare each a week. But it’s still so much!

£70 for CM which DD has gone since under 1.
£70 for nursery which doesn't take under 2s. Nursery is actually cheaper due to various subsidiaries but they aren't open all year round and have shorter hours then CM.
Both in London.

£7.00 an hour (just gone up from £6.90), I like our nursery because you can pick the exact number of hours you want and pay for them- think this is rare as a lot just do full days or half days etc. we are in essex

itssquidstella · 23/01/2023 16:01

£95 a day in North London. Includes all nappies, wipes, formula (if needed) and food. 7.30-6.30pm.

GoodChat · 23/01/2023 16:01

It's about £4.50 an hour at our nursery but £10 an hour at other local nurseries.

roarfeckingroarr · 23/01/2023 16:17

£99.50 per day. Zone 2 SW London for a two year old.

anomaly23 · 23/01/2023 16:18

We were £65 a day. Nappies and food not included.

whoisbruno · 23/01/2023 16:33

Thanks everyone.
The £9.10 I pay doesn't include nappies or food. I pay an extra £3.50 per day for food and supply the nappies.
Think I may look at other nurseries in the area!

That is very expensive if you're paying extra on top for nappies and food!

Heyahun · 23/01/2023 16:42

95 a day

Heyahun · 23/01/2023 16:44

My 95 a day doesn’t include nappies but I just provide my own
they get 3 meals a day plus snacks and extra activities like football, Drama, music classes etc

That’s in north London

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/01/2023 17:54

That sounds costly @whoisbruno

Maybe look at a cm

Namechange13101 · 24/01/2023 14:22

83 for a 10hr day includes everything (nappies/wipes/food/snacks/milk and extra activities like French, music and rugby tots) and we’re in hertfordshire
