My goodness it's tidy in here!

Somebody had a tdy up last night.

We are off swimming this morning, although its a faff getting 3 kids in and out the pool, it is the most restful day of the week. (Theyall sleep for two hours after, and my cleaner has been in while we are swimming, so come back to a beautifully tidy house)

GOOD MORNING! Thought I'd just pop in quickly as not actually working today! I need to do quite a few things to do with work but that can wait! Have plans today
Swimming with 3 kids?! Are you mad?! I find it hard enough taking dd on her own! Have fun though

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 08:04

Its a bit like the elves and the shoe makers! D'ya think if we leave out the ingedients, we might get a cake in the morning! Good old Ju!

Got my neighbours boy in today. She started potty training him on Wednesday last week and he is completely dry day and night already! Sits on the toilet, doesn't want to bother with the potty at all! He is 2 yrs 4 mths. He's been amazing. He doesn't stop talking about what a big boy he is! I just hope he doesn't regress at all, we all know it happens.

shoshe · 18/01/2008 08:09

My gorgeous boy that left in May did that Mo, at 22 months!!!! never regressed either, I spoke to him yesterday

Morning - I've got to take a pal & her family to the airport this am - a surprise weekend in Scotland for her hubby

Then I have to take DD to the DR - she has been poorly since last Monday & off school since Tuesday. She went to school yesterday am - but she really wasn't well & came home at 12.

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 08:17

Will you being seeing the dr too Katy? I read about your ear trouble again.

KatyMac · 18/01/2008 08:20

No- the lavender kinda worked (we'll see)

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 08:26

Jolly good. I'm feeling a bit teary today. See here Nothing major, just a bit

crace · 18/01/2008 08:55

Hi everyone - I am a bit miserable today, broke my blinking glasses and no hope of replacing them today or tomorrow and I am so blind. I am about 6 inches away from the screen as I type. I am wearing Dh's specs for distances but I already have a headache. I have a course tomorrow too which will be fabulous fun I am sure.

Mo- bless your DH, must be really sad for him. I can well imagine my hubs going through the same problem in 10 years time. He will be gutted, Daddies and their little girls.

crace · 18/01/2008 08:56

Morning shoshe, did hubs get off ok to SA?

Katy, sorry to hear that your daughter is so unwell, bless her. Hope she feels better soon!

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 09:31

Woohoo! BEST birthday pressie ever! Me and Kbear have just bought each other a ticket for Level 42 in October! Best seats and everything. We are a bit mad on them and have seen them at least a dozen times! Perfect pressies for each other! (she's 40 in March) We don't want for much, but we do both love a bit of Mark King!

LoveMyGirls · 18/01/2008 09:41

Hi everyone,

Good news about potty training, my dd is 2.4 and has done well with it too.

Sorry to hear your dd is unwell katy, am i right in thinking she is ill quite often? (Just wondering because I was unwell alot and it turned out to be glandular fever but was undetected for ages)

Mo bless your dh, he sounds so lovely it sounds like your dd wants him to still say goodbye, can you buy her a couple of sets of shorts and tshirts for bed so she's well enough covered then it's not a problem?

Crace can you stick them together with tape ala jack duckworth just so you can see or are they properly broken?

Shosh - I'm so jelous! Not of the sleeping for 2 hours thigns because mine do that most days (although i'm in the process of settling in so not so easy at the moment!) but the cleaner, I would love to come home to a clean house that I hadnt jhad to clean myself! Bliss! 1 day I may invest! Out of interest how much do you pay and how many hours does she do?

LoveMyGirls · 18/01/2008 09:41

How was your party Mo?

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 09:47

Not yet LMG. Tis Sunday at mothers and next Saturday night we party til dawn!

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 09:48

A cleaner is tax deductable you know?

LoveMyGirls · 18/01/2008 10:08

Really - oops!

Can I really get a cleaner? I'd love a cleaner!

crace · 18/01/2008 10:35

Glasses are properly broken, right by the top of the lens and they are ridiculously thin metal - price of fashion I guess.

I want a cleaner too, is it really tax deductible? All of it?! I could probably sell DH on one if that was the case!

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 10:39

I've just had my post and there's a card addressed to Mrs XXXX aka Mo! Its not from Kbear, so who is it then?

MaureenMLove · 18/01/2008 10:40

Definately! Speak to Shosh, she'll fill you in on the details. In the meantime, get some quotes girls!

shoshe · 18/01/2008 10:54

LMG's I have my I have my cleaner for 3 hours on a friday, £7.00 per hour, its brill, best thing I did, its great, my kitcen is done from top to bottom every week, including the micro, fridge, and I have a temp policy beside it which she checks off for me each week (she is soooooooo fab)

Does the toilet from top to bottom, bathroom, and hoovers everywhere, then wipes down all the paintwork. (To be honest I dont know how she does so much)

I have just made her a coffee and a piece of cake, as we have just got in from swimming I dont know what I will do when she is posted.

Hi all, I have a question, hoping you can help...

Because of my situation the amount I charge will make very little difference to my income, so I was wondering - is it possible to charge a low amount (as this will benefit potential families) but then ask them for trip money as and when I arrange outings? Or does ALL money count as income, even if it's to take the kids to the zoo, soft play centre etc?

looneytune · 18/01/2008 12:03

I think ALL income declared but you put the trips as expenses - anyone confirm?

Hi everyone else, just popped in and baby woke up so best go and catchya later x

dmo · 18/01/2008 12:51

i have a cleaner didnt know i could claim her wages back through my books FAB!!!!

shoshe · 18/01/2008 12:54

I do dmo, cos in imo, its no different than a nursery caliming their cleaning expenses.
I dont ask the cleaner to clean my bedroom, or anything, just the rooms and things the children use, Plus the kitchen as I cook all the childrens food.
